Job Description:

Random House Books seeks an experienced and dynamic Senior Marketing Manager or Marketing Manager to lead title-specific marketing campaigns for both frontlist and backlist for Random House with a focus on Hogarth, but has the ability to work on titles across the Random House imprints. Reporting directly to the Senior Marketing Director for Random House, this position will collaborate closely with the larger Marketing, Editorial, Publicity and Consumer Insights teams.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about books and skilled in crafting and executing innovative marketing strategies for our fiction, nonfiction and backlist titles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Campaign Development: Ideate, develop, and execute innovative and data-driven marketing plans for individual titles Adapt strategies based on market data, consumer trends, and performance metrics.
  2. Asset Coordination: Partner with the design team to create compelling assets for campaigns, including digital and social media graphics.
  3. Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough post-analysis of key campaigns, sharing insights and recommendations for future marketing opportunities and improvements.
  4. Team Communication: Effectively communicate marketing plans and strategies to in-house teams, including publishing, editorial, and sales departments, ensuring alignment and collaboration across all functions.
  5. Social Media: Manage the Hogarth Instagram as well as keep abreast of social media best practices and emerging trends.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in book marketing, with a strong preference for candidates with expertise in trade paperbacks.
  2. Skills:
  3. Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  4. Strong creative thinking and strategic planning abilities.
  5. Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  6. Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  7. Proactive and exceptionally organized, with a keen attention to detail.
  8. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience designing marketing assets using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva.

The salary for Senior Marketing Manager position is $79,500 and the salary for Marketing Manager is $73,500. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.

The position is open to remote work. If the candidate lives a commutable distance from our NYC offices, located at 1745 Broadway, the role will be hybrid with in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, author visits or events, and daily ad hoc projects. Commutable distance includes the Tri-state area, NJ, CT & PA.
