Job Description:

North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to join our ServiceNow Platform Team and support key applications, including HRSD, ITSM, ITOM, SAM, and HAM. In this role, you will be responsible for hands-on development throughout the entire software development lifecycle—from initial concept and design to testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.


The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to enhance platform functionality, drive automation, and ensure seamless integration with other enterprise applications, contributing to the efficiency and scalability of our ServiceNow environment.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as a technical advisor on ServiceNow for the business, providing outcome-focused guidance on platform solutions, leveraging leading practices and native platform capabilities
  2. Assist in the review, design, and improvement of ServiceNow processes and procedures
  3. Collaborate closely with other ServiceNow developers and contribute to technical governance policies
  4. Provide ongoing production and end user support, along with administration functions such as managing users, workflows, tables, and data
  5. Use a systematic approach and a wide breadth of ServiceNow platform knowledge to troubleshoot, identify, and solve technical issues
  6. Utilize tools to regularly monitor and analyze system performance, perform regular maintenance, and proactively take corrective actions as necessary to ensure platform reliability
  7. Responsible for defining requirements, designing workflows, participating in all build/configuration, testing, and implementation activities, as well as analysis and troubleshooting to meet specifications of a project or service request
  8. Monitor and employ source code control techniques and configuration management to ensure consistency across development and production environments
  9. Ensure ServiceNow applications meet NAPA security standards and best practices
  10. Investigate and advise on new features released by ServiceNow and what impact they could have on current processes
  11. Responsible for developing training materials and plans for end users, as well as providing initial and recurring training to business users as the platform continues to evolve
  12. Manage integrations between ServiceNow and other third-party applications via Integration Hub or custom API development
  13. Use scripting tools and ServiceNow functionality to create scripts that automate repetitive tasks
  14. Create custom user interfaces to improve the overall user experience of ServiceNow, leveraging custom HTML/CSS/Javascript when necessary


Experience/Skill Requirements:

  1. Experience with Glide APIs, Javascript, HTML, XML, AJAX and REST web-services
  2. Knowledge of AngularJS is a plus
  3. Experience in CMDB, Discovery and integration with other modules
  4. Strong conceptual understanding of ServiceNow’s relational database and data model
  5. Strong understanding of ITIL methodologies and technical governance
  6. Demonstrated skills associated with software design, modification, implementation, and deployment, including object-oriented development concepts
  7. Understanding of key design patterns and large data volume limitations and best practices
  8. Skilled at analyzing and mapping complex business processes to technical solutions, while identifying opportunities for business process optimization
  9. Experience with QA methodologies (usability testing, performance testing, automated testing, test scripts, test cases and test plans)
  10. Familiarity with the continuous delivery model and agile development processes
  11. A particular desire to continually study new technologies and functionality, as well as be involved in projects that push the capabilities of existing technologies
  12. Must have a high focus on user experience with a propensity for incorporating modern design trends into solution design
  13. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  14. Truly enjoys delivering IT solutions and a strong desire to see the continued acceptance and success of those solutions at NAPA


Education/Certification Requirements:

  1. At least 5 years hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and administration at an enterprise level; designing, building, and continuously improving scalable ServiceNow solutions using out-of-box functionality
  2. BS Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  3. Current implementation specialist certifications for ServiceNow HRSD, ITSM, ITOM, SAM or HAM, along with CSA and CAD
  4. Additional certifications and hands-on experience with Performance Analytics, NOW Assist, AI Search, or Virtual Agent is a plus
