Job Description Summary

 

Product Marketing sits at the unique intersection of Product, Sales, Marketing, and Business, working within all stages of the product life-cycle – from ideation to development to wide release. You are responsible for bringing new and innovative products to the market with strong positioning and sales enablement materials.

 

The day in the life of a product marketer is diverse; you can find them evangelizing automotiveMastermind products and gathering feedback at client meetings, training the sales team on new feature pitches, or sitting with the design team creating the next great sales collateral.

 

Your day will include planning and executing new product launches, interfacing with Product Management, the Commercial team, Account Management, and Marketing teams as well as the executive team and external resources.

 

A Successful Sr. Manager, Product Marketing – OEM & Dealer Groups will:

 

  • Maintain an awareness of key market trends and pain points.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and frame competitive comparisons.
  • Conduct market and customer research to gather data and insight about market segments, target personae, buyer needs and the purchasing decision process for the product, including key buyer roles.
  • Influence product development through well-defined market needs and opportunity assessments.
  • Create and socialize the following product-level documents: product marketing plan, sales enablement plan, launch plan, solution handbook.
  • Develop product positioning, value propositions and messaging that resonate with Dealers Groups and OEMS and produce the source messaging blueprint.
  • Collaborate with marketing peers and resources to produce relevant content for OEMs and Dealer Groups.
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement, National Enterprise Account Team (NEAT), OEM Team, and Regional Dealer Group Team to develop positioning, content, and training materials for OEMs and Dealer Groups.
  • Enable sellers and coordinate the development of sales content and activities for direct and indirect sales for OEMs and Dealer Groups.
  • Assist in product naming by providing market, competitive and customer context.
  • Manage launch planning and orchestrate execution of the commercial release of a product.
  • Provide market and buyer insights to drive the development of campaign strategies including demand creation and reputation building.
  • Develop customer references, testimonials and case studies for external and internal use
  • Drive product retention and upsell/cross-sell strategies or assist a formalized customer marketing function in doing so.
  • Conduct win/loss interviews and perform ongoing analysis to determine the level of customer product adoption and provide feedback to the product team.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of products in the market and communicate the results of related sales and marketing efforts.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • 5-7+ years of product marketing experience, preferably in a high-growth SaaS environment
  • Product/Solution Marketing expertise with strong grasp of buyer journeys/customer life cycle
  • Automotive OEM experience highly preferred
  • Proven people influence skills; active listener that builds strong relationships across the organization
  • Strategic thinker with analytical mindset
  • Highly collaborative, customer-focused
  • Achievement/goal-oriented with resourceful, persistent, can-do attitude. Ability to take the initiative and deliver projects unsupervised
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident dealing with multiple departments and senior management within the business
  • Excellent presentation and written and oral communication skills
  • Copywriting and editing skills a plus
  • B2B marketing, product management, and product life-cycle experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business preferred
  • Travel required - 15% to 25% approximately

 

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only)

 

  • S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,800 to $118,900. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographical location as well as experience and qualifications for the role.
  • In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
