Job Description:

The Senior Copywriter will craft original, impactful content that resonates with diverse audiences across various platforms. This role emphasizes developing content strategies, creating persuasive messaging, and writing compelling copy for print, digital, out-of-home (OOH), video, radio, and social media. While writing is the primary focus, editing and proofreading are essential to ensure the highest quality of deliverables. The ideal candidate will excel at translating complex ideas into clear, engaging narratives that align with client goals and brand guidelines.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  1. The Senior Copywriter position does not supervise other employees.


Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Collaborates with the creative director, art director, and project managers to understand project objectives, audience, and strategic goals.
  2. Participates in internal project briefings and brainstorming sessions to contribute creative ideas and messaging strategies.
  3. Writes engaging, persuasive, and audience-focused content for various media, including print, digital, OOH, video, radio, and social platforms.
  4. Develops messaging concepts and strategies that translate client branding and key messages into effective communication materials.
  5. Conducts research to ensure content is informed, relevant, and aligned with client objectives and industry trends.
  6. Prepares and refines drafts for internal review, incorporating feedback to improve clarity, impact, and alignment with project goals.
  7. Presents messaging concepts and rationale to clients as needed, ensuring clear communication of creative intent and strategic alignment.
  8. Edits and proofreads content rigorously for accuracy, grammar, and adherence to AP Style and brand guidelines.
  9. Prepares final, client-ready content that meets creative specifications and project requirements.
  10. Supports the Creative or Copywriting team with additional tasks or assignments as needed.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Exceptional writing skills with the ability to create content that persuades, influences, and motivates target audiences.
  2. Versatility to adapt tone, style, and voice to various brands, audiences, and media formats.
  3. Strong research and analytical skills to gather information and translate insights into compelling content.
  4. Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including a meticulous understanding of grammar, usage, syntax, and AP Style.
  5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  6. Demonstrated ability to present ideas and campaigns effectively to clients and internal stakeholders.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and collaborative tools (e.g., Figma) is a plus.
  8. Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices for optimizing digital content is highly desirable.
  9. Ability to work independently on assignments while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.


Education & Experience

  1. A portfolio demonstrating exceptional copywriting skills and relevant experience across various media formats.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in copywriting, ideally within an advertising agency or a similarly fast-paced, creative environment.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Journalism, Creative Writing, Communication, or a related field is required.
  4. Experience developing content for digital campaigns, with knowledge of SEO best practices.
  5. Familiarity with creating messaging strategies and producing content for print, digital, OOH, and social media platforms.
