Job Description:

CitrusAd is looking for an experienced Copywriter. You’ll partner with internal product marketers, designers, and researchers to help plan, create, and continually improve content across business products.

You'll be someone who loves marketing and bringing writing and storytelling to life. A large part of your focus will be helping to build community content within small businesses as you apply consistent brand standards, tone, and voice to elevate materials including events, newsletters, web copy, editing and reviewing, and group postings.

You love working in a collaborative team and thrive in fast-paced environments. You love being hands-on with your writing and editing and you do the best you can each day to produce meaningful content across a range of businesses where people are passionate about their communities.

What you'll do:

  • Brainstorming article ideas based on an editorial calendar and data insights
  • Writing long- and short-form articles, incorporating SEO keywords and subtle product mentions
  • Writing social posts and stories that promote articles
  • Working closely with the SEO team to optimize article copy and topics
  • Collaborating with designers to produce visual assets that work for the story – photos, video, gifs, etc.
  • Presenting ideas to the team
  • Addressing feedback from the team and the client
  • Researching the latest global lifestyle and tech trends
  • Jumping between thinking like a writer, a content strategist, a journalist, and a pop culture enthusiast
  • Incorporating copy into copy deck templates and checking for accuracy

Qualifications

  • Experience writing editorial content for online branded content marketing efforts, in addition to the traditional marketing copy
  • Experience creating social content, either for yourself or a brand (especially Instagram and TikTok)
  • Deep understanding of the millennial/gen z audience - what they're into, what excites them, what interests them
  • Basic understanding of SEO and writing metadata, including alt text
  • Love for writing and a knack for grammar — you’re a sucker for details
  • Fluency in global pop culture and trends — you love knowing what’s up
  • Interest in and knowledge of consumer tech
  • Enthusiastic, self-starter attitude and a collaborative spirit
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • B.A. or B.S. in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field
  • 4+ years in the advertising industry or related experience managing large cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Some experience in an agency setting is preferred
