Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Business Manager. Under the supervision of the Department Administrator, responsible for the complete portfolio management of departmental finance portfolio, including affiliation budgets. Reviews and maintains budgets, records, and processes necessary to ensure compliance with NYU Grossman School of Medicine standards, regulations and guidelines. Prepares monthly variance reports and explains budget variances. Works independently with minimal supervision.

Job Responsibilities:
Implement budgets and manage expenditures within budgets Process Personnel, payroll, purchasing and other related documents accurately and timely Maintain current knowledge of guidelines and Medical Center policies and update colleagues appropriately.

  • Prepares JOC requests and ensures adherence with the affiliation contract.
  • Manages the affiliation contract financial activities and collaborates with the NYU and Bellevue affiliation office teams
  • Assist with all affiliation contract related projects
  • Prepares and submits supplemental compensation for affiliation an non-affiliation related work
  • Oversee and coordinate all financial tasks related to proposals for and receipt of discretionary funds within the parameters of the most current donor guidelines and Medical Center policies. Effectively assist the department administrator with preparing budgets for proposals for operating, gift and unrestricted funds.
  • Audits, monitors and schedules reports of departmental financial activities. Processes transaction corrections, reallocations and other related activities.
  • Allocates budgets; maintains budgets for programs, including reconciliation and transfers; maintains all official award records.
  • Ensure that internal procedures for maintaining tracking and timely processing and reporting are followed
  • Coordinates contract, award agreement, and subcontract negotiations with contract specialists and departments administering the award with the POD Finance team

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Other Administrative Initiatives Organizes and leads workshops and small group sessions to train research administrative staff in various aspects of research administration. Actively participates in local and national professional organizations and user groups to keep abreast of new functional developments and technology. Works with technical staff on system enhancements, and modifications. Identifies and resolves technical and functional problems enhancements, and modifications. Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $73,770.80 - $122,904.39 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
