Job Summary

The Web Specialist is crucial for developing, maintaining, and optimizing an organization's web presence. This role demands a blend of technical skills, creative problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure that websites and digital platforms align with organizational goals, meet performance standards, and provide exceptional user experience.


Location

Hybrid- Fairfax, VA. Must be willing to go onsite in the office.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain, update, and manage website content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand guidelines.
  2. Collaborate with content creators, designers, and marketing teams to ensure the website effectively supports campaigns, promotions, and business objectives.
  3. Perform regular site audits to identify and fix performance issues, broken links, outdated content, and other website errors.
  4. Work with developers to build new web features, landing pages, and tools to enhance user experience and drive engagement.
  5. Optimize website performance for speed, SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
  6. Implement and monitor web analytics tools to track user behavior and site performance.
  7. Assist in developing and executing web strategies that align with overall business and marketing goals.
  8. Provide insights and recommendations based on user analytics, industry trends, and competitor analysis.
  9. Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, including bugs, downtime, or technical errors.


Basic Qualifications:

  1. Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance; US Citizenship required.
  2. Must reside in the United States and work must be performed in the United States.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Digital Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  4. 5+ years of experience in in web development, content management, or a related role.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Federal government experience, with a preference for experience with DHS.
  2. Certifications in web development, SEO, or analytics (preferred).
  3. Proficiency in CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Joomla).
  4. Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript; familiarity with frameworks like Bootstrap is a plus.
  5. Experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) and SEO best practices.
  6. Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Adobe XD, Figma, Photoshop) for collaboration with designers.

  2. Ability to communicate complex data and insights in a clear and actionable manner.
  3. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.


The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$73,722.00 - $125,327.00
