What We Want
The Web & Information Designer, under direction, designs and produces a variety of graphical imagery, animation and other multimedia rich Applications for Marketing & Communications, providing technical oversight for the application of and compliance with technical and accessibility standards. This will include the creating and implementing of websites, web communications and strategy, content management and customer support.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Three years of professional web design and development experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, WordPress and the web design production process.
Familiarity with debugging websites including desktop and mobile browsers.
Knowledge of WCAG and website accessibility standards.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in website creation and administration in WordPress.
Experience responsible for professional social media accounts (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
Three years of experience in web administration, the creation of web pages and websites.
Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience creating websites in a WordPress and/or similar content management system.
Advanced knowledge of graphic design software.
Advanced knowledge of HTML including usability and optimization techniques.
Web design production process and project management skills.
Ability to translate client needs into executable designs.
Ability to create original concepts.
Responsibilities:
Web Content, Design & Communications- Designs, publishes and maintains accuracy, timeliness, and functionality of website content developed through integrative communication strategies. Produces and manages a variety of graphical imagery, video and other multimedia-rich content. Assists with development and implementation of online communications strategy. Implements a web content strategy to meet business goals by maximizing the impact of web content. Assists with HTML emails. Updates content on websites. Designs, creates, formats and produces high-quality, original web-based designs. Establishes procedures for authoring web content. Coordinates and administers user access to the WordPress environment. Ensures a consistent visual image by promoting uniform formatting, images, fonts, icons, and layout techniques. Develops required reports and metrics, including search engine analytics and uses the results to develop communication strategies. Maintains and improves existing web systems and hardware. Ensures compliance with state, federal and university rules and regulations. Maintains and ensures accessibility standards. Creates automated tasks and systems for data transfer in web-based applications, website expansion or other uses.
Service Support- Collaborates with on-campus clients and web developers to develop user interface requirements, and defines, prototypes, and documents highly usable interfaces to meet those requirements. Completes digital-technology-related requests. Provides web services support for Marketing & Communications initiatives which may include special event pages, online surveys, and online event registration. Advises faculty, staff, and students on matters related to web content.
Social Media- Produces high quality, professional social media content. Recommends new social media venues and strategies. Performs other duties as assigned.
