Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Web Content Manager to lead the technical execution and ongoing development of the American Bible Society's website and marketing email platforms. As a key contributor to our digital marketing and fundraising efforts, you will manage website functionality, development, email execution, and SEO optimization to ensure seamless user experience in alignment with our strategic goals. Reporting to the Director of Digital Transformation & Partnerships and collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will play a pivotal role in advancing ABS's marketing, fundraising, and ministry objectives through effective web management.

In this role, you will be responsible for building new landing pages, enhancing and optimizing existing ones, executing email communications, and maintaining robust and optimized SEO strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of website architecture, development technologies, and SEO best practices, ensuring the site remains healthy, stable, and aligned with ABS’s mission. Your work will drive engagement, improve site performance, and ensure a cohesive digital experience that supports the Bible cause and the mission of American Bible Society.

Key Responsibilities:



These duties reflect the technical, collaborative, and strategic elements of the Web Content Manager focusing on ensuring optimal website performance, campaign execution, SEO success, and seamless integration of ABS’s marketing and fundraising strategies.

  1. Website Development & Maintenance: Manage and update website content using WordPress or other content management systems, ensuring timely updates, accurate information, and SEO-friendly layouts.
  2. Landing Page Development: Design, develop, and implement new landing pages, optimizing for user experience, conversions, and SEO while aligning with marketing and fundraising objectives.
  3. Form Development: Building and connecting conversion forms for email address and donor acquisition.
  4. Email Campaign Execution: Build, test, and send email communications, ensuring proper design, compliance with campaign goals, accurate segmentation, and brand consistency.
  5. SEO Strategy & Performance Monitoring: Implement on-page SEO elements (keywords, meta tags, headers, structured data) and use tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and track and analyze site performance, crawlability, and SEO metrics.
  6. Technical SEO & Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve technical SEO issues such as broken links, crawl errors, and page speed improvements to enhance both user experience and SEO performance.
  7. A/B Testing & Experimentation: Conduct A/B and multivariate tests on landing pages and email campaigns to improve engagement, conversions, and SEO effectiveness.
  8. Web Performance & Load Time Optimization: Optimize website pages and elements for speed and performance, ensuring compliance with user experience and SEO best practices.
  9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with digital marketing, fundraising, ministry, and IT teams to ensure web design, SEO, and digital strategy align with ABS’s business goals.
  10. Vendor & Agency Collaboration: Coordinate with external web developers, SEO experts, and agencies to enhance digital assets and resolve technical challenges as needed.
  11. Stay Current with SEO & Digital Trends: Keep up with evolving search engine algorithms, SEO practices, and digital marketing trends, incorporating them into actionable website and digital strategy improvements.
  12. Analytics & Reporting: Provide ongoing reporting and analysis of website traffic, SEO performance, email campaign metrics, and user engagement, using data to guide optimization strategies.
  13. Web Development Support: Collaborate with developers and design teams to implement HTML, CSS, and other technologies, ensuring compatibility with SEO and design standards.
  14. Platform Integration & Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve functionality issues between the website and integrated platforms such as Gravity Forms and Pardot, ensuring seamless data flow, proper functionality, and user experience continuity across systems.
  15. Website Development & Maintenance: Oversee day-to-day website functionality, ensuring stability, security, and optimal performance across all devices.
  16. Information Architecture & Usability: Create and organize website content using information architecture best practices, conducting usability tests and gathering feedback to enhance navigation and user experience.
  17. Security & Maintenance: Ensure website security and stability by keeping WordPress core files, plugins, and DNS settings up to date, minimizing site downtime and disruptions and monitoring for and addressing outages.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Web Development or related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ strong experience in digital marketing, web content and front-end development, and website management and maintenance with a focus on front-end development and digital execution.

Tech Stack Familiarity and Proficiency:

  2. Elementor, Divi, or similar visual builder – Expert
  3. HTML, CCS, JavaScript – Proficient
  4. Salesforce Marketing and Data Clouds – Expert
  5. SEMRush or similar SEO tools - Expert
