Progress/Open Edge Developer

This position will contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications, and collaborate with business analysts, end users, and other developers to create efficient, scalable solutions. This position is full time in office but may evolve to a hybrid position at the discretion of the manager. Additional days/hours as needed during peak seasons.

Essential Functions:

1. Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancements for ERP and related systems.
2. Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
3. Work closely with cross-functional teams and end users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
4. Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software in Windows client/server environments using tools like Progress 4GL, .NET.
5. Support CI/CD through Jenkins, Chef, Terraform, Octopus or similar.
6. Support Agile Development Scrum/Kanban process and documentation (Jira).
7. Write and maintain high quality documentation for new and existing applications.
8. Ensure system integrity and security best practices are followed.
9. Provide support and maintenance for existing applications, including bug fixes and enhancements

Required Education and Experience:

1. Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in development, with experience in Open Edge/Progress 4GL heavily desired.
3. Experience in creating server-side programs for distributed Progress 4GL applications on Classic Appserver V11, and V12 Open Edge PAS Servers.

6. App Servers (PAS) - Object Oriented Open Edge - Open API
7. .Net, .Java, PERL - Angular JS, Python, PHP - ASP, HTML
8. Bsh Scripting - SOAP and REST services - XML and JSON

Experience with developing services to support external-facing APIs, Swagger Specs, API Creating and Management
