the job:

we are seeking a Trade Marketing Manager to join our North America Trade Marketing Team. The Trade Marketing Team is responsible for translating brand marketing campaigns and initiatives to customer-specific needs including visual merchandising, sampling, events, in-store & digital activations, and more to drive growth.

 

location: Brooklyn, NY (can work remote)

salary: $95,000 - $110,000 + bonus

 

what you’ll do:

trade market planning & execution

  • Drive adaptation of marketing campaigns to specific customer needs, ensuring campaigns are 360 (in-store, digital, social, events, promotions), covering ongoing and launch support.
  • Work alongside Account Managers to develop and create holistic trade marketing plans designed to drive business, including visual merchandising, sales promotions, holiday sales, seasonal events, loyalty programs, GWP, special kits, etc. while delivering a strong ROI on programming.
  • Lead planning + execution of in-store visual merchandising + print needs across customer portfolio.
  • Partner with Sales, Field, Education, Creative Teams to plan and execute trade events
  • Brief and create collateral for all customer-specific programs and in-store needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure on-time delivery of copy, comps, artwork, visuals, etc. to customers.
  • Manage customer promotions, assortments, and promotional set execution.
  • Manage sampling + product trial opportunities across customer portfolio.

strategy & insights

  • Identify growth opportunities by deep dive analysis focused on top door performance, planogram analysis, display and event performance, new item and hero item evaluation.
  • Track in-market promotions to gather business intelligence on category market trends, competition and share best practices.
  • Analyze and report on promotional activities performed, level of spending by promo by customer by channel, evaluating key programs results against established KPIs, leveraging cross-functional teams as needed for ROI details.

communication & presentation

  • Participant in strategic customer meetings including: Monthly business updates, Line-Reviews, & Joint-Business Planning.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure synergies with our in-store & digital strategy.
  • Regularly communicates with Sales, Field, Education teams to share Account specific support plans and changes.
  • Collaborate with Global Product Marketing team to provide feedback and analysis on innovation (pre-, post- and during).

 

must haves:

 

  • 4-6 years of related trade marketing experience (hair care or skin care preferred)
  • Previous experience with Sephora preferred
  • A hands-on self-starter with strong organizational skills who is comfortable with fast turnarounds and tight timelines
  • Strong creativity, retail marketing & outside of the box thinking skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and creative skills
  • Proactive approach – take initiative to do what is needed for the business.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (mainly Excel + PowerPoint) and similar programs.
