About The Role

We’re seeking a Mid–Senior WordPress Developer who genuinely enjoys working with WordPress and wants to push the boundaries of what’s possible. This isn’t a “theme installer” role - you’ll be hands-on in custom theme and plugin development, building out new functionality, and enhancing existing features.

Your time will be split between:

1. 70% new development – custom themes, integrations, mini apps, and advanced functionality
2. 30% maintenance and enhancements – security, plugin updates, performance improvements

Day-to-day you’ll be working across front-end development while touching into the stack, with opportunities to dip into back-end PHP where possible. You’ll also get exposure to projects involving AI, back-end automations, and large language models, as well as integrations.

This is a hybrid role (2/3 Days PW in the office) where collaboration is key - the team thrives on sitting around the table and creating great things together.

Key Skills & Experience

We’re looking for someone with around 4–5 years’ experience in WordPress development who thrives in an agency-style environment.

Must-Have:

1. Strong WordPress theme & plugin development experience
2. Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+)
3. Experience working with APIs and custom integrations
4. Familiarity with source control & deployment pipelines
5. Understanding of security best practices and performance optimisation
6. Ability to customise WordPress beyond just theme installation
7. Proficiency with Laravel and/or React

Nice-To-Have:

1. Interest in AI/LLMs and building backend automations
2. Experience with WooCommerce or complex integrations
3. Comfort with client-facing communication (via AMs)
