Great opportunity for a mid to senior level .Net Developer to join a large, ASX listed national infrastructure asset management organisation with multiple business units including telecommunications, transport, energy, and defence. This position sits within the ICT team servicing these business units.

Responsibilities

Mid to Senior .Net Developer to join in-flight migration modernisation program to migrate a billing services in-house platform to a sub-contractor portal, at the same time introducing a microservices distributed/containerised architecture. The ideal candidate can develop high-level and low-level designs, develop, test and support transiution to BAU.

1. Contribute across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications and supporting documentation.
2. Deliver high-quality, test-driven code in .NET, Python, and Java (for ESB uplift), with strong awareness of secure coding practices (Secure SDLC).
3. Build and maintain cloud-based and serverless applications leveraging AWS, Docker, and modern deployment practices.
4. Apply knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL), HTTP protocols, and caching strategies to design efficient, scalable systems.
5. Participate in the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for application deployment.
6. Design and implement RESTful APIs, web services, and microservices with a focus on security, scalability, and maintainability.
7. Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet requirements and contribute to broader technical strategy.
8. Use Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and tools such as Jira to manage work and ensure transparency.
9. Perform peer reviews and mentor junior developers to uplift overall team quality.
10. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues in production and development environments.
11. Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, tooling, and development practices.

Success Measures

1. Proven experience in .NET (Core/Framework) and Python, with exposure to Java desirable.
2. Solid front-end knowledge: HTML, JavaScript, CSS.
3. Working knowledge of AWS Cloud Services, Docker, and general DevOps practices.
4. Experience with Web API development, SQL and NoSQL technologies.
5. Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, database connections, caching mechanisms, and distributed systems.
6. Familiarity with cloud-native and serverless architectures.
7. Commitment to producing bug-free, well-documented, testable code, with TDD/unit testing experience.
8. Knowledge of secure coding principles and Secure SDLC practices.
9. Experience using Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence, Miro, etc.).
10. Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor team members, set priorities, and deliver outcomes within agreed timelines and budgets.
11. Curiosity, eagerness to learn new technologies, and a collaborative mindset.
