Job Summary
The position of System Controller will be responsible for all aspects of the areas assigned within UofL Health Corporate Finance. The primary responsibility will be to direct the day-to-day, monthly, quarterly, and annual fiscal cycles within the Chief Financial Officer's organization. This position requires consistent and continuous coordination on the many finance and accounting services provided by UofL Health administration.
• Analyze recurring organizational financial performance – monthly or quarterly operating result meetings Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable.
• Analyze actual financial results and budget variances for profit and loss, balance sheets and statements of cash flows.
• Provide full support for annual balance sheet and cash flow budgeting, to complement P&L and capital budgeting by organization.
• Ensure that reporting requirements are fully met. This is for both internal and external purposes.
• Control a rigorous close process with clear accountabilities, a well communicated calendar, performance metrics and cross-functional participation.
• Assists with the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
• Lead the monthly close process to include consolidation and reporting.
• Ensure that all annual external financial reporting and debt compliance reporting is completed accurately and timely.
• Serve as GAAP and FASB technical resource in conjunction with external auditors.
• Assist with training, educating and coaching staff.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or related field. MBA, MAc, MS in Finance, or other advanced degree preferred.
Certification:
• CPA (Preferred)
Experience:
• Preferred level of experience is 7-10 years. The employee should have financial and managerial and reporting experience with GAAP, FASB and other internal standards.
