The Marketing & Events Coordinator promotes effective communication practices between parents, teachers and support staff. The Marketing and Events Coordinator is also responsible for overseeing tasks throughout the event planning process. Their duties include the project management of in-person school events including identifying venues and vendors, communicating with vendors throughout the planning process, running errands for supplies and decorations, and working with staff to ensure the completion of a successful event.

  • Develops an internal communication strategy that improves collaboration between teams, increases organizational effectiveness, builds engagement, and fosters a positive transparent culture;
  • Develops and maintains a range of external communications including, but not limited to, family newsletters, school announcements, school event flyers, local website, auto-dialer calls/texts and social media groups;
  • Writes, edits and designs content for internal communications (newsletters, calendars, emails, videos, SharePoint, etc.);
  • Coordinates facilities, lodging, food and beverage, travel, entertainment and other related issues for internal meetings, conferences, and special events
  • Works closely with Finance to monitor event budgets
  • Negotiates with vendors and establishes relationships with repeat vendors
  • Coordinates arrangements with vendors and site logistics as needed
  • Works closely with Engagement Specialists to execute planned outings for students and families
  • Serves as school level liaison for 3rd party marketing efforts
  • Additional duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field of study AND
  • Two (2) years of related experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience using Canva, Adobe Express, and other content creation tools Certificates and Licenses: None required.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills;
  • Strong organizations and time management skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, );
  • Web proficiency;
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time;
  • Ability to clear required background

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field of study
  • Three (3) years of experience creating engaging social media content
  • Experience planning events for educational institutions

  • This is a home-based position but may require one or more days a week in the office as well as required attendance at in-person staff events as determined by the supervisor.
