We help high school students and their parents make smart, informed decisions about pursuing engineering as a career. Our mission is to clarify whether engineering is the right path, show the real future job outlook (including the impact of AI), explain the many engineering disciplines and career pathways, and give students a clear action plan for college admissions, internships, networking, letters of recommendation, and early technical training that sets them apart.
We are looking for a charismatic, well-spoken individual who can become the public “face” of The Engineer Academy on social media (especially TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn).
Core Responsibilities
1. Create short, high-energy podcast-style video clips (30–90 seconds) of yourself explaining key topics such as:
- Is engineering still a good career with AI coming?
- Which engineering majors are most/least future-proof?
- How to pick the right engineering discipline for your personality and skills
- How to start landing engineering internships in high school
- Early steps to get strong letters of recommendation from real engineers
- Best high school courses, software, and projects that impress college admissions and employers
- Overall job outlook and salary realities in different engineering fields
2. Write engaging, benefit-driven scripts that speak directly to high school students and their parents (hook in the first 3 seconds is mandatory).
3. Film, edit (or coordinate simple editing), and post 12–20 videos per month across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.
4. Research and join relevant Facebook groups, Reddit communities, Discord servers, and LinkedIn groups where parents and high-achieving high school students gather.
5. Identify, reach out to, and onboard micro- and mid-tier influencers (5k–150k followers) in the STEM/college-prep/parenting niche for paid or affiliate collaborations.
6. Track performance of posts and iteratively improve what works.
Who You Are?
- Extremely comfortable and confident on camera – you look and sound professional yet approachable and energetic
- Excellent American English speaker (clear diction, warm and authoritative tone)
- Deep interest or background in engineering, STEM education, or college admissions (engineering degree is a plus but not required)
- Proven ability to create viral-style short-form video content (please share examples)
- Self-starter who needs little direction once goals are set
- Familiar with CapCut, Canva, or similar mobile editing tools
- Understands algorithm-friendly content (strong hooks, text overlays, trending sounds, fast pacing)
Compensation & Incentives
- Performance bonus/commission structure kicks in after initial ramp-up period:
- -Potential for commission on course sales generated directly from your content or influencer partnerships
- -Additional bounty for every influencer you successfully onboard who promotes us
- Fully remote and flexible – work when and where you want as long as deadlines are consistently met
How to Apply
Send us a video of yourself in action:
1. A 60-second (or shorter) video of YOU on camera telling us why you’re perfect for this role and explaining one of the topics listed above (this is the most important part – we need to see and hear you!)
2. Links to any social media accounts or previous video content you’ve created
3. Your general availability and any relevant experience/background
We’re moving fast and will be interviewing immediately. If you love being on camera, care about helping the next generation of engineers, and want upside tied directly to results, we want to talk to you!
