Position Objective
Blacksmith is seeking an SEO Specialist to lead and execute organic search strategies for client accounts and Blacksmith’s website. This role drives traffic growth, improves rankings, and turns performance data into action plans. You’ll collaborate with developers, designers, and strategists to integrate SEO into every project.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Own end-to-end SEO strategy across technical, on-page, and off-page efforts
Conduct SEO audits, competitive analyses, and keyword mapping
Collaborate with designers and developers to implement SEO best practices
Develop structured content strategies aligned with UX and conversion goals
Manage and improve local SEO for location-based clients
Track rankings, crawl health, Core Web Vitals, and conversions using Ahrefs, GA4, and Search Console
Present findings and recommendations clearly to clients
Run technical audits using Screaming Frog and SEMrush with prioritized action steps
Implement on-page SEO updates in WordPress (meta tags, headers, alt text, internal links, schema)
Conduct keyword research for core pages, blogs, and campaigns
Create SEO briefs and optimize content before publishing
Ensure SEO requirements are met before site launches
Set up and configure Google Search Console, GA4, and tracking parameters
Generate monthly performance reports highlighting insights and next steps
Research and support backlink opportunities
Monitor Google algorithm updates and adjust strategies
Attend client meetings to explain SEO performance and strategy
Identify technical blockers and content gaps and coordinate solutions
Must Have Qualifications
10+ years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in an agency setting
Proven record of measurable SEO growth supported by first-party data
Strong knowledge of Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console
Experience implementing metadata, schema, redirects, and internal linking
Expertise in keyword research aligned to business goals
Comfort collaborating with developers on technical SEO issues
Ability to manage multiple clients and prioritize effectively
Skilled at translating SEO insights into clear, non-technical language
Excellent communication in a remote team environment
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with international or multi-language SEO
Understanding of CRO best practices
Familiarity with Jira, ClickUp, or Asana
