Job Description:

Retail and Brand Marketing Specialist

The Marketing Specialist is a retail and brand focused marketing role and is responsible for engaging with our customers online, in-store, and in the local community to foster loyalty, brand building, and provide quality customer experiences. The Specialist will contribute to existing marketing programs while assisting with the development of new initiatives aligned with company goals.

Primarily, the Marketing Specialist’s job is to ensure we are creating a positive, engaging, welcoming and educational experience for each guest, dispensary partner, and wholesale customer starting with their online impression and interaction with our menu to the customer experience. This includes delegating tasks to team members with proper training. The Marketing Specialist will meet weekly with retail leadership and other staff who are marketing contributors, as well as participate in group meetings and discussions for feedback and inputs as needed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Spend 25% of the time at a partner dispensary and/or events to visiting staff, educating customers on our products, while representing Temescal Wellness brands in a professional manner
  2. Daily response monitoring of inbound communication via email and any other channels
  3. Spend approximately 25% of time at our retail, visiting each location at least twice monthly to conduct onsite pop ups, provide brand training to staff and customers and provide and set up marketing materials
  4. Daily menu management and product listing optimization including: accuracy of images and descriptions, banner updates, (wholesale and retail) and collaboration with retail leadership and the inventory team to support marketing initiatives and events
  5. Create content and general promotional graphics
  6. Ownership of our product catalog to maintain and continue building and updating a library of product resources for menu management
  7. Plan, build, and execute email marketing campaigns and social media in collaboration with the Director of Business Development
  8. Drive effective merchandising of in-store marketing materials, signage, accessories and TV creatives
  9. Responsible for text blast communications
  10. In partnership with inventory team members and retail managers, liaison to staff on marketing initiatives which include weekly marketing meeting and email communications for all new products, events and upcoming promotions
  11. Communicate effectively and timely with management and store associates regarding relevant marketing activity to ensure we are maximizing our marketing efforts for customers, partners and staff
  12. Serve as an collaborative member of the Diversity and Inclusion group to be responsible for community outreach and acting as brand ambassador in the local communities, including but not limited to local business partnerships, sponsorships, local community events and service opportunities and communication with medical card providers
  13. Coordination of in-store events, as outlined above, with internal teams and vendor partners from planning to execution
  14. Responsible for measuring the success of events and reporting to the Director of Business Development
  15. Maintain an inventory of up-to-date sales and educational support materials (i.e. VIP Club materials, handbooks, info cards) and reorder with the Director of Business Development
  16. Work with retail managers and Director of Business Development to recommend incentives, giveaways and promos based on inventory and business needs
  17. This position is partially remote with local travel up to 50%
  18. All other duties required by management

Requirements:

  2. Familiarity with traditional and digital marketing channels
  3. Ability to effectively manage time in a challenging start-up environment
  4. Google Calendar management
  5. Proficiency in full Google Suite, Microsoft Suite; InDesign and Adobe a plus, Dutchie, Alpine IQ, Canva, WebFlow
  6. Strong with Social Media
  7. Ability to assure compliance by demonstrating attention to detail and the aptitude to process and internalize a large volume of information, most specifically around state regulations
  8. Relentless pursuit of: accuracy and of achieving efficiency through technology and processes, identifying inefficiencies, and contributing to the continuous improvement of operations.
  9. Strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to effectively interface with a diverse population of patients, guests, teammates, vendors, regulators, community members, and other stakeholders.
  10. Strong cannabis knowledge. Passionate about de-stigmatization and education
  11. Ability to manage day-to-day priorities and effectively communicate with Marketing and store managers when there is a question or concern.
  12. Availability on weekends if required for special events or time-sensitive updates

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  2. Bend and stoop to grasp objects, bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat
  3. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds
  4. Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
  5. Experience with social media


Compensation and Benefits:

  1. Salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 based upon experience
