Job Description:

The Technical Project Coordinator (Food Processing Equipment) plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager, working closely with customers, internal sales teams, and various departments within the company. This position is responsible for assisting in managing projects related to food processing equipment, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical background and demonstrate a quick learning ability to grasp Handtmann's equipment and processes efficiently.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support customers by addressing technical inquiries, providing guidance on equipment selection, and explaining capabilities. (100% of time is dedicated to supporting customers, both directly and indirectly.)
  • Collaborate with internal sales teams to ensure customer needs are met and projects are delivered within agreed-upon timelines.
  • Participate in trade shows and customer-facing events as required. (Limited travel may be necessary, approximately 25% in the first 6-12 months, and less than 10% thereafter.)
  • Assist in refining internal processes by leveraging previous experience and knowledge of best practices.
  • Develop shop checklists and quality control documentation for the production team.
  • Prepare quotes for small machines intended for mom-and-pop butcher and meat shops, including defining machine specifications, voltage requirements, and any additional attachments or nozzles needed. (Approximately 30-40% of time.)

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in project management, preferably with a technical background.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with project management software, such as Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not mandatory for candidates with relevant experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the food processing industry or related fields (e.g., automotive, construction, general manufacturing).
  • Knowledge of or experience with Handtmann equipment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, growing company environment.
