Job Description:

General Description of the Position’s functions and purpose: The Production Manager supervises and provides quality management to the Promo Editing and Graphics Support staff. The incumbent will act as the liaison between the customer and Creative Services department, managing workflow, and final work product. The incumbent will create production schedules and deadlines, identify problems and solutions, create procedures and tools to schedule, track, and ensure both timely delivery and quality of the product that meets/exceeds industry standards for technical and aesthetic quality as practiced by U.S. networks like ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS. He/she will communicate with multiple individuals and departments to ensure promos are being produced correctly.

Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent shall:

  • Oversee the production activities and processes which enable timely and efficient creation of high-quality promotional materials/products.
  • Create timelines for completion of promotional materials and prioritize the activities of Creative Services Editors and Graphics personnel to ensure efficient workflow and processes. Make adjustments as deadlines change and new work is introduced.
  • Establish processes for technical quality assurance to ensure that material meets U.S. broadcast audio and video technical standards.
  • Confirm daily that all promos that need ingesting have been authorized.
  • Perform Quality Control on products produced, including content messaging.
  • Perform special assignments including long-term planning, functional/technical advice, and general marketing and promotional guidance.
  • Act as the liaison between the company and the customer.
  • Attend weekly meetings to receive upcoming editing and graphic projects.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed as requested, including but not limited to, a detailed report of projects, projected completion dates, hours spent on projects, and quality assurance results.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required by the job:

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of Marketing and Promotion duties and responsibilities and a basic understanding of Graphic Design and Web Design duties and responsibilities.
  • Remain highly productive while working in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment, maintaining quality work product that meets/exceeds AFN standards.
  • Work effectively in a team and independent environment.
  • Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail and the ability to analyze given data.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with other Taft and Government personnel both orally, and in writing.
  • Knowledgeable in broadcasting industry technology and standards.
  • Have the ability to enter data accurately and efficiently.
  • Working knowledge of the Traffic System and standard IT computer systems.
  • Have working knowledge with on-air promotion techniques, graphics creation television editing equipment, and broadcasting industry technology to include the following hardware/software and applications: Avid Media Composer, Xpress, After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite, Maxon Cinema 4D, and Update templates.

Qualifications – Minimum Required: Incumbent must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience overseeing production and graphics activities and personnel in a Creative Services environment, to include on-air promotion techniques, graphics creation television editing equipment, and broadcasting industry technology and standards.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.

General:

  • This position requires a DCSA Tier 1 background check with fingerprints.
  • This position is subject to random drug testing.
  • All applicants are subject to a minimum of 90 days for the purpose of evaluating their performance.
  • The pay rate is determined by Management and has been proposed/accepted in the contract.
  • Work hours are, Monday-Friday 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
  • Work Schedules or department duties are subject to change due to operational necessity. On occasion, overtime may be required.
