The Role:
Lutron has a strong focus on innovation, quality and service. The luxury residential business is seeking a Product & Content Marketer who can lead and implement the communications strategy and tactical plan for new products and categories, as well as evolutions for existing products and services. This role will collaborate with marketing leadership, product management and centralized communication teams to define the strategic positioning for products and develop effective marketing plans. In addition, you will develop corresponding content that evokes emotion, encourages discovery and educates our target audiences (including but not limited to architects, lighting designers, custom integrators and luxury homeowners) on how Lutron elevates luxury living with simple, elegant and innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
Intelligence gathering. Uncover audience, market and competitor insights that inform the development of GTM approaches for products, categories and services.
Team engagement. Gather critical inputs and perspectives from product managers, communications team members, and marketing and business leaders. Gain alignment at key stages of planning and implementation to progress the work.
Strategy development. Working in concert with product managers, craft a compelling market positioning for how the product or service satisfies unmet market needs and capitalizes on insight. Develop message strategy and visual language direction in collaboration with the team.
Tactical planning. Create marketing plans for new and updated residential luxury products and services that contribute to their adoption and growth. This includes but is not limited to: sales enablement materials (collateral, presentations), digital roadmap and tools, editorial calendar and content published across multiple vehicles, video and photography asset development, and stakeholder communications.
Content strategy & development.
Research and identify content gaps and opportunities based on insights gained through customer research, social listening and SEO keyword/topic analysis.
Develop content calendar that is informed by the market (e.g. relevant editorial calendars), internal business plans and product roadmap.
Research and pitch topics for owned blog articles, guest posts opportunities (on owned and partner channels), social media series and educational content.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to provide an informed angle on specific topics.
Create content briefs and outlines that clearly capture the intended audience, objectives, visual requirements and desired customer actions.
Serve as a content leader directing/editing the work of contracted content writers and agencies.
Identify opportunities to cross-promote stories with influencers, media partners and other business units within Lutron.
Tactical implementation. Execution of the approved marketing tactics, including the development of creative briefs, partnership with the copywriting and art team, productive evaluation of creative, and launch of tactics.
Measurement & performance optimization. Ongoing evaluation of the performance of marketing plan at the overall and individual-tactic levels. This includes the creation of KPIs for the program and tactics, implementation of measurement systems, development of executive-level reports on marketing efficacy and recommendations for improving their performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing discipline preferred with a minimum GPA of 3.0
7-10 years of work experience in a marketing function
Self-starter with an intellectual and journalistic curiosity
Strong writing and visual skills
Strong attention to detail and quality
Track record of creating and implementing effective go-to-market plans for products and/or services
Is comfortable communicating directly with internal subject matter experts as well as external high-profile customers and influencers
Basic understanding of B2B lead generation funnel and content strategy
Willingness to learn complex technology concepts and make them easily understood through crisp, clear writing
Interest in architecture, design and/or smart home industries is preferred
Experience with web CMS and martech systems such as Wordpress, Drupal, Hubspot, Salesforce, etc. is also preferred
Position can be based in Austin, TX, Conshohocken or Coopersburg, PA
