As a producer at Squanch Games, you’ll work to create production plans, move a team through the production pipeline, and ship games! Responsibilities:
- Creates a production plan (resource plan, scope breakdown, project delta dashboards, risk log, tracking towards established development periods/milestones, team roadmap) for their team and tracks the team’s progress towards the creative vision.
- Partners with one or a group of Leads to move a team’s work through the production pipeline, deliver multiple features or initiatives, and drives the team to meet goals/milestones created by the Directors, Leads or the team itself.
- Owns a subset of the project i.e. Narrative / Gameplay end to end - from concept to ship to any post release needs.
- Identifies problems (project, personnel, creative) and works with Directors/Leads to come up with creative solutions to overcome them.
- Investigates, assesses, and delves into the technical or emotional side of project management (specifically the one you index less on). You strive to be as at home in a project plan as you are in a 1:1 with a colleague (and vice versa).
- Work on being an autodidact: Nobody has all the answers so you know how to go looking for & find them.
- Learn to use & discuss the appropriate production methodology for the situation to ensure that the team has clarity in goals and the path to accomplishing them whether through agile, waterfall, etc.
- Identifies and reports on where the project or an initiative stands (using a mix of data & qualitative resources).
- Have an understanding of development pipelines (especially those ubiquitous to Squanch).
- Be a great translator for your team to leadership.
- Ship games! You are learning the particular nuances of submitting titles to one or more platforms and seek to document these processes for the betterment of the studio.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of video game industry experience
- At least 1 shipped title as an Associate Producer or Producer
- Thorough knowledge of the game development process and constraints
- Eye for detail and ability to break down large problems into manageable, achievable tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Localization and outsource experience a plus but not required
- Jira, Excel/Sheets or other comparable project management software experience
