The Network Administrator is a senior role in the Equinox Gold US Operations IT team. This role is under the direct supervision of the IT Superintendent and the direction of the Network Architect. The Network Administrator role is responsible for, but not limited to, management, monitoring, design, deployment, and operation of the network infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Management, installation, configuration, upgrade, audit, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise network and security infrastructure, such as but not limited to Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Network (WLAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), VPN, Firewalls, Access Points, Wireless Controllers, VoIP, Unified communications, Voice gateway, and other security applications (SOC), to meet company’s objectives and industry best practices.
- Implement and monitor security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
- Analyze and resolve problems to maintain stability within the overall infrastructure and growth.
- Investigate, repair, and recover from hardware or software failures including developing, maintaining, and updating comprehensive disaster recovery procedures in addition to coordinating and communicating with impacted sites and users.
- Document network topologies and infrastructure in Microsoft Visio.
- Demonstrate basic project management abilities at all levels of technology modifications or upgrades, deployments, or migrations.
- Provide suggestions for improvements based on discoveries made with a view to reducing recurring faults or improving the service provision.
- Stay informed on new and emerging trends and technologies.
- Contribute to the IT Department’s technical documentation and participate in the development of procedures and standards (Tutorials, training tools, troubleshooting, security prevention/awareness guides, etc.).
- Asset management, equipment inventory, and third-party vendor relationships.
- Assist with the day-to-day delivery of support to the organization. Own all aspects of IT Service Management including but not limited to Asset, Incident, Request, Change and Release Management, ensuring IT Helpdesk tickets are addressed within the company Service Level framework.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, and/or related field or equivalent work experience in network administration.
- Possession of Cisco certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
- Network Administration certificate preferred.
- Microsoft Certified Solution Architect a plus.
- VMWare Certified Solution Architect a plus.
- CompTIA Network+ certified a plus
Minimum Experience Required:
- Minimum 7 years of experience providing administration, configuration, and troubleshooting support of network systems, including but not limited to firewalls, VPN, switches, routers, wireless Controllers, and access points in a corporate environment.
- Minimum 3 years of experience providing administration, configuration, and troubleshooting support for Unified communications, voice gateways, and call managers.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with virtualized environments
Skills Required:
- Advanced knowledge on network operating systems, WLAN, Cloud Environment, network topologies, network hardware, computer operating systems (Windows, Linux), routing, switching, data privacy, security, and telecommunication systems.
- Proficient networking skills with Ethernet, Fiber Distributed Data interface (FDDI), TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Access Points, and Cisco IOS.
- Solid experience working with enterprise Cisco switches and routers, including port management, VLAN’s, etc.
- Linux and Ubuntu systems experience; ability to configure and maintain Linux Systems, Diagnose and Troubleshoot Issues.
- Physical, virtual, and overlay (container) network topologies
- Experience with Multi-Level security is a plus.
- Troubleshooting complex platform issues traversing multiple layers (network, system, cluster, and application orchestration)
- Demonstrated proficiency with Visio for LND’s.
- Strong work ethic, energetic, goal oriented, detail conscious and methodical in their approach to projects.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate effectively using various mediums while maintaining the IT department’s commitment to customer excellence.
