Essential Duties
- Identifies students' needs with staff members to assist in solving health, attitude and learning challenges.
- Provides individualized and group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
- Establishes and maintains student behavior standards to establish an orderly and productive environment in all physical education areas.
- Instructs citizenship and basic subject matters as specified under state laws and regulations, within school district guidelines.
- Collaborates with other physical education teachers to implement balanced physical education programs.
- Evaluates student growth in relation to physical skills, knowledge, and contribution to team sportsmanship.
- Selects and requisitions uniforms, equipment, and instructional aids while maintaining inventory records.
- Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
- Participates in faculty committees and student activity sponsorships.
- Performs related duties as required and requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Classroom management
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Must have knowledge in specific coaching areas that pertain to teachers with specific coaching assignments
- Must possess a valid MI Teaching Certification with a Physical Education Endorsement
- Must possess a Bachelor's degree.
