Essential Duties
 

• Identifies students' needs with staff members to assist in solving health, attitude and learning challenges.
• Provides individualized and group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
• Establishes and maintains student behavior standards to establish an orderly and productive environment in all physical education areas.
• Instructs citizenship and basic subject matters as specified under state laws and regulations, within school district guidelines.
• Collaborates with other physical education teachers to implement balanced physical education programs.
• Evaluates student growth in relation to physical skills, knowledge, and contribution to team sportsmanship.
• Selects and requisitions uniforms, equipment, and instructional aids while maintaining inventory records.
• Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
• Participates in faculty committees and student activity sponsorships.
• Performs related duties as required and requested by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Classroom management
• Strong communication and listening skills
• Must have knowledge in specific coaching areas that pertain to teachers with specific coaching assignments
• Must possess a valid MI Teaching Certification with a Physical Education Endorsement
• Must possess a Bachelor's degree.
