Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments and terminations. Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
  • Manage annual open enrollment period for each year. Arrange for distribution of plan summary materials and required notices, assist with communicating changes to employees and arrange for onsite representation by providers. Process changes within deadlines.
  • Process monthly billings from insurance providers. Resolve discrepancies between carriers, payroll, and the company. Complete reports for management as requested.
  • Resolve employee complaints related to health, and benefit plans.
  • Maintains confidential personnel files and personnel actions.
  • Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status.
  • Coordinates with attorneys to address legal matters, create new policies.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits, or other HR programs
  • Recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, insurance and 401(k) deductions.
  • Manages 401k functions via designated portal.
  • Pull electronic time clocks and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
  • Process weekly transfer of payroll data to Paycom.
  • Update and maintain employee information in time clock system. Enter schedule changes in time management system as they rise.
  • Providing information to accounting team when requested
  • Biweekly activities include the following: inputting weekly hours, voiding checks/ manual check as required. Ensuring that all employees are classified in their proper departments.
  • Monthly activities include the following: completion of payroll journal, Department Summaries, Bank Reconciliation.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
  • Participates as needed in special department projects.
  • Recruiting depending on company needs
  • Conduct new-employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefits plans and policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Payroll Experience a MUST
  • 6+ years HR experience
  • Paycom knowledge is a plus
  • Bilingual
