HD Fowler Company is looking for a full-time, experienced HR Generalist with an emphasis on payroll administration to join our team in Bellevue, WA (Factoria). The ideal candidate is a positive, strategic-thinker, detail oriented and quick learner. Collaboration is an essential function of this role, and this individual must work closely with various departments, management, and peers to ensure seamless payroll operations.

Payroll Responsibilities:
- Responsible for processing of semi-monthly payroll in multi-state (WA, OR, ID, MT, UT) business using ADP Workforce Now for 630+ employees.
- Update 401(k) contribution changes and manage accurate eligibility records.
- Calculate prevailing wages, file certified payroll and coordinate with respective contractors to ensure all required paperwork is completed.
- Conduct ongoing payroll audits, assist with projects and report generating for the finance dept. and other departments. Review data, verify for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Maintain accurate GL accounting procedures.
- Process and respond to garnishments and medical support orders.
- Manage high-volume workloads by multitasking, coordinating with the HR team and management, and communicating effectively with the employee population.
- Help with questions related to payroll processing and benefits, open enrollment, agency billing and accounting documents.
- Assist with setting up new employee payroll profiles, manage current and terminated employee payroll profiles.
- Process and reconciles for employee medical, deferred compensation, employee reimbursements and third-party payments.
- Stay up to date on State and Federal laws around payroll and HR compliance.
Other Human Resources Responsibilities:
- Partner with managers regarding various employee relations matters.
- Analyzing HR data, identify trends and present recommendations for solutions.
- Support integration of HR processes, programs, and practices.
- Maintain Federal and State compliance requirements.
- Assist with various HR compliance tracking, such as DOT driver files, safety reporting and OSHA logs.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now payroll system highly desired.
- Proficient in Excel and computer literate.
- Strong understanding of payroll GL and accounting procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of tax laws, accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices.
- Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and standards such as ADA, FMLA, EEO.
- Proven experience communicating effectively with all levels of employees and creating an outstanding customer-service environment.
- Strong ability to demonstrate patience and remain calm in high stress situations.
- Consistently demonstrate creativity to anticipate and resolve conflicts, solve problems and/or develop alternatives. Demonstrate a high degree of professional maturity and confidentiality with sensitive HR information.
- Able to self-guide work prioritization and completion; work independently with little direct supervision.
- Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including employee relations and progressive discipline, performance management, and diversity.
- Technical and functional knowledge of US federal employment and labor laws and regulations and same for WA, OR, ID, MT and UT.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
- Minimum 3 years customer service experience in HR
- 5 years or more payroll experience required
