DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design - concepts and visuals for lead-generating, action-oriented advertisements
  • Mindset - that requires working directly with clients, prospects and your teammates
  • Discussion - of technical and conceptual advertising requirements and principles
  • Participate - in everything: ad design, magazines, marketing, collateral, events, and initiatives
  • Collaborate - with teammates, clients and prospects to find inventive solutions through design
  • Archive - artwork, assets and client advertisements per current systems standards
  • Guide - and promote TheHomeMag’s quality advertising standards and best practices.
  • Proficiency - in the tools, techniques and software needed to be efficient and productive
  • Ambassador - for the brand, team, and design as we positively impact and communicate with the community for the better

STRIVE TO ACHIEVE THE FOLLOWING RESULTS:

  • Clear the path to making it easy for others to succeed
  • Grow my ability to quickly concept and develop an effective advertisement
  • Support sales effort through the design of Spec Ads, marketing materials and collateral
  • Support the design team with copy changes, proofing and tasks that help balance the workload
  • Support marketing efforts to include social media, email campaigns, website, direct mail and more
  • Communicate consistently and regularly with my team and clients
  • Engage with peers, prospects, and clients to deliver results that meet their business needs
  • Work efficiently to meet and/or beat deadlines while maintaining focus, responsiveness, and positive engagement with my team, prospects and clients
  • Help to grow my local magazine every Issue per established goals
  • Help to attain Sales Targets (pages, clients, revenue) per established goals
  • Seek to recognize and proactively improve ad performance
  • Minimize the likelihood of errors at every opportunity
  • Assist with photography as needed as well as technical advice to achieve best images

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

  • Present a positive and professional manner in working with clients and prospective clients while leading them through a design session that will honor our design best practices and deliver a quality, results focused ad or ad campaign.
  • Engage directly with prospects and clients to ensure we are making the process easy
  • Ads will be designed to the highest possible quality standards for each issue
  • Ad proofs sent with adequate time for clients to review, comment and approve (if required)
  • Clients receive proper follow-up to insure smooth approvals and a positive experience.
  • Attend meetings to share, contribute, communicate and enjoy the collaborative culture
  • Active participation in design training and modules for continuous skill improvement
  • Incredible attention to detail and awareness of the details, specifically spelling and ad copy
  • Always working to find solutions, remove obstacles and help others experience the positive impact of great design

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Degree in Graphic Arts Design (preferred)
  • Proficient with Adobe Suite especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to quickly develop a variety of idea concepts and build them for presentation
  • Proficient in selecting appropriate images and technically preparing them for print production
  • Ability to multitask in a high volume team while still maintaining attention to detail and always honoring deadlines
  • Basic knowledge of social media and email campaign creation and best practices
  • Photography experience a plus

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday 8 AM - to 5 PM; occasionally later to meet magazine deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $51,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
