Callaway Resort & Gardens was founded in 1952 by Cason and Virginia Callaway as a place where people and nature could abide together for the good of both. The Garden itself is nestled in and amongst 2500 acres of the southernmost foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and offers its guests a retreat that offers solace, inspiration, and discovery for all who visit.
In 1936 the Ida Cason Callaway Foundation was formed as a 501c-3 to fulfill its fundamental purpose of connecting people with nature.
Callaway Gardens is at a very special stage of its life and seeks to secure its position as Georgia's Authentic Outdoor Escape by energizing its education programs to meet the current expectations of our guests and compete with the ever-increasing footprint of activities in the Atlanta metro area. We seek to welcome, teach, energize, and engage our guests with entertaining outdoor activities, formal and informal education offerings, along with natural and stunning displays of nature. Callaway also aspires to be a Garden that is representative of the community we serve and to educate all on the bounty and natural beauty of nature. The educational programs dedicated to the children of our community are of special importance.
The Education Manager will be an energetic, capable, intuitive, and collaborative leader, who inspires innovative and creative thinking among staff in delivering our educational programming. Callaway Gardens seeks to develop new educational programming (formal and informal) that is relevant to the guests we serve and delivered in a manner that is engaging, active, and motivational. The Education Manager will be a warm, inspiring, cheerful, and approachable leader who has the fortitude to make changes to current programming. The Education Manager will understand our finite resources while also instilling programming that leads to deeper member engagement and donor support.
