Job Description:
As a Tech Curriculum Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and enhancing our technology-focused educational content. Your expertise in instructional design, technical knowledge, and passion for education will drive the creation of engaging and impactful curriculum materials for learners of various backgrounds and proficiency levels. You will work closely with the Curriculum Director and our team of writers in course development, implementation, evaluation, research, and continuous improvement of the curricula models and to ensure that our tech curriculum aligns with industry standards and meets the needs of our learners.
The candidate will improve existing curriculum while also staying current and pitching new, relevant tech programs and platforms. The ideal candidate understands how to seamlessly weave creativity and technology into their work in a way that kids will love. This position reports to the Curriculum Director
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Design and Development:
- Design and develop technology-focused curriculum materials, including course outlines, lesson plans, learning objectives, and instructional materials.
- Utilize pedagogical best practices and learning theories to create engaging and interactive learning experiences.
- Content Creation:
- Develop and update course content for various technology-related subjects, such as programming languages, website creation, photo editing etc.
- Incorporate multimedia elements, practical examples, and real-world projects to enhance the learning experience.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular reviews and revisions of curriculum content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with industry trends and standards.
- Gather feedback from learners and instructors to make continuous improvements to the curriculum.
- Technology Integration:
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate the latest advancements into the curriculum.
- Ensure that technology tools and platforms used in the courses are up-to-date and user-friendly.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to instructors and facilitators on delivering tech courses effectively.
- Offer technical assistance to learners to resolve any course-related issues.
- Social Emotional Learning:
- Contribute to the development and training of curriculum focused on the development of social emotional learning and interpersonal skills
- Analyze assessment results to identify areas for improvement and adjust curriculum content accordingly.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Computer Science, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or educational content creation, preferably in the tech industry.
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise in one or more technology areas (e.g., programming languages, web development, data analytics, etc.).
- Familiarity with instructional design models, learning management systems, and e-learning authoring tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for education and a commitment to creating transformative learning experiences for learners.
- Coding experience (any object-oriented language): Java, JavaScript, HTML, and/or Python
- Experience with some kind of electronics or robotics
- Clear understanding of a variety of STEAM & SEL concepts.
- Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about instructional challenges.
- Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer;
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

COMPENSATION:
This is a full time regular exempt position for 40 hours a week that includes benefits. Compensation is a range of $55K - $65K a year and will be commensurate with experience and location.
