Enhanced DNA Publishing is a division of Enhanced DNA: Develop Nurture Achieve, LLC and is a small independent publishing company where Denola Burton is the Founder/CEO. We are located in Indianapolis, Indiana and we publish between 10 to 20 books per year. We strive for high touch/high excellence and work with Publishing Partners to provide expertise for a full-service publishing solution. The Contract Editor will be a part of the Publishing Partner team and will bring additional expertise to an already professional team. The Contract Editor will work on editing projects as assigned based on area of expertise and interest in project. This is not an ongoing role, it is project specific and there could be times when the editor has several projects or other times when they have no projects. This role is perfect for someone who has the expertise and wants the ability for extra work/pay on an as-needed basis.

Role Description

This is a contract remote role for a Contract Editor. The Contract Editor will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and proofreading books for publication. This could range from Developmental Editing, Copy Editing and Proofreading. Possible genres include Nonfiction: Memoirs, Self-Help, Business and/or Spiritual. We publishing very few Fiction books. The Contract Editor will ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with the Independent Book Publishers Association Standards for a Professionally Published book.

Qualifications

1. Excellent knowledge of the English language
2. Excellent attention to detail and strong editing skills
3. Knowledge of publishing processes (writing, publishing and marketing books)
4. Proficiency in grammar, punctuation, and syntax
5. Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
6. Strong communication and organizational skills
7. Previous experience in book editing is a requirement
