Location: Remote – East Coast Region

Role:

As a Content Writer and Social Media Specialist you will provide original content, manage social media posts, update website content, create blog posts and provide content writing support with business development/proposal teams. This position will provide hands-on experience in developing compelling stories, branding, preparing internal communications, external press releases, announcements and determining appropriate channels to communicate messages. Focus will be on effective communication strategies to enhance APVs’ presence within the IT Technology, Human Capital, Training and Emerging Technology (Artificial Intelligence) industries. The position reports directly to the president of APV.

 

 

Duties:

  • Write creative and original content for cross-channel marketing communications about APV initiatives on our web page, social media platforms, LinkedIn, video scripts and digital marketing collateral.
  • Create ongoing communication plan to engage internal APV employees by blogs, emails and other communications methods.
  • Design engaging presentations, talking points, video scripts and email correspondence for various audiences.
  • Support branding as it pertains to recruiting efforts and delivering a compelling advantage on talent acquisition resources.
  • Proficient in integrating communications channels, social media platforms, press releases, and event promotions.
  • Ability to write original content in response to Request for Information, and Request for Proposal by interviewing SMEs and staff to articulate effective and compelling messages.
  • Prepare content for blogs, website content management, maintain fact sheets and write LinkedIn posts.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and management to ensure brand consistency and accuracy of content for internal and external publications.
  • Develop strategic communication plans to ensure consistent messaging to increase company’s online presence and brand awareness.
  • Identify technologies for effective creative marketing messages and collaborate with graphic artists for designing creative images.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical writing, content writing or Editor
  • Demonstrated ability to write compelling content that aligns with projects, advertisement, and marketing campaigns on social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of marketing channels including LinkedIn, digital advertising, and social media.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Writing samples and portfolio available upon request.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of US Federal Government IT industry services.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and/or Canva
  • Ability to support Eastern time zone work schedule.
