Job Description:

Content Writer will develop and create content for website content, blogs, landing pages, articles, e-newsletters, white papers, content for social media, brochures, marketing collateral, print ads, and other print publications such as our Year in Review. Content Writer will also assist in writing copy for radio and TV commercials, as well as internal and external video scripts. Content Writer will interface with Sr. leadership, internal and external medical experts and be comfortable with interviewing sources. The Content Writer must be capable of producing well-researched and accurate content, as well as exercise editorial judgment, on tight deadlines.


This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The schedule is Monday - Friday, days. Position may require travel throughout the state for meetings at various office locations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - JOB SPECIFIC

  1. Article planning, researching, writing and editing of, but not limited to, the following:
  2. o Compass Connection (bimonthly internal newsletter in printable and electronic formats)
  3. o Year in Review (annual magazine-style publication highlighting successes of organization)
  4. Assist the VP of Marketing in overseeing the management, development and implementation of multi-platform social media strategy and content calendar for agency (as they are assigned to marketing staff, if applicable)
  5. Create social media content to promote agency services, as well as other social posts as directed
  6. Write content for the company website(s), including evaluation of the current content of the company site, making suggestions for edits as needed to maintain proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.
  7. Assist with social media posting and management on all agency social platforms
  8. Work with VP of Marketing to brainstorm interesting and engaging content for both internal and external audiences
  9. Write narratives for brochures, websites, posters, and other collateral materials
  10. Work internally and with outside agencies to ensure information on marketing materials are properly & positively reflecting agency's integrity
  11. Work with agency staff to market and promote fundraising events and other community activities
  12. Assist with creating marketing materials for various marketing channels as directed
  13. Maintain marketing materials, updating existing materials as needed, and checking for grammar, spelling, and voice
  14. Create new marketing materials as directed
  15. Assist with events as needed
  16. Work with outside agencies as needed
  17. Assist with project management as needed
  18. Other duties as assigned



  19. Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, strategic communications, public relations or related field required

  20. QUALIFICATION(S): WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  21. At least three (3) years' experience required
  22. Experience working with media outlets and outside vendors required
  23. Must be a highly motivated individual who seeks to tackle creative challenges
  24. Ability to work independently, as well as within a team, to develop strategic, creative ideas that will move the agency forward
  25. Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  26. Graphic design background/understanding, both digital and print, preferred
  27. Familiarity with social media platforms and MS Office required
  28. Familiarity with WordPress and website updates preferred
  29. Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills required
