Job Description:

Location: American Products, Inc. (API) - located in WEST TAMPA / OLDSMAR FL @ 13909 LYNMAR BLVD., TAMPA, FL 33626 (Near Westchase, Citrus Park Mall, Tampa Bay Downs Racetrack and about 15 minutes northwest of the Tampa Airport).

API supplies storefronts, doors, canopies, sunshades, handrail and other products for commercial construction projects. When working at API, you could be working on projects like Footlocker, Wendys, Dicks Sporting Goods, etc. nationwide. We are hiring a dynamic, very organized, very computer savvy Construction Coordinator to work with the Project Management, Autocad, Sales and Engineering teams to process orders.

Our ideal candidate will have a general understanding of project coordination procedures, exceptional project coordination skills and an excellent attention to detail. They will also have excellent computer skills and be very computer savvy. The Coordinator will participate in the planning, coordination, and execution of delivering architectural metal products produced by API to construction sites. Our Coordinator will participate in extensive customer communications, processing paperwork, scheduling, and more and will communicate with contractors, subcontractors, project owners, and engineers to ensure that the project meets the specifications and requirements. Our Coordinator will also participate in project costs, ordering materials, and completing financial documentation. You will have multiple projects running simultaneously so the ability to multi-task is very important. Must enjoy extensive customer contact via phone and email as our projects are located throughout the country.

Construction Coordinator Duties:

  • Review all order paperwork upon receipt of a Purchase Order and prepare all necessary order documentation / paperwork and submit to customer for sign-off and approval
  • Call and email customers regularly to obtain necessary information and provide excellent customer service
  • Ensure compliance with all construction project guidelines, standards, and design specifications
  • Obtain package sizing and obtain shipping pricing to ship materials and arrange those shipments (we ship across the entire US)
  • Schedule deliveries of materials to meet project timelines
  • Monitor and report on construction progress to project managers
  • Review paperwork, architectural drawings,
  • Liaise with clients, construction crews, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication
  • Conduct quality control checks and identifying any issues or delays to the project manager
  • Resolve potential issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process
  • Prepare project documentation, including reports, plans, and schedules
  • Assist in the planning and forecasting of project budgets and timelines
  • Contact customer for final customer order review / project closeout
  • And much more.

Construction Coordinator Must Haves

  • Above average computer skills

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be very organized and enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to read blueprints a plus but not required
  • Prior construction experience a plus

About Us

We manufacture and supply a wide range of Division 8 products such as Storefront, glazing products and doors, Division 10 products like partitions and accessories and canopy, sunshades. We are located in Oldsmar / West Tampa Fl. Some form of construction, architect, autocad, engineer, drafter, estimator, sign, furniture design, fixture, glazing, blueprint exp. a plus but not required. However, prior experience with some sort of project coordination / project manager exp. is required.
