Job Description:

As a Communications leader, the candidate will support strategic communications for the content studio, including media relations, executive communications, and content PR strategy in partnership with distribution partners. They will primarily support the studio’s TV division and will also provide ad-hoc support across the live events, theater, audio, and content sales divisions as needed. The position will also support content communications around Fifth Season’s production partners and liaise with distribution partners, as well as the company’s corporate advisors.

Role Responsibilities:

 

Corporate Communication Strategy and Execution

  • Execute Fifth Season’s corporate communication strategy across all mediums (e.g. print, social media).
  • Craft press releases, pitches, and other PR materials.
  • Oversee the process from creation to dissemination of press releases for important announcements around partnerships, first-look deals, castings, film projects.
  • Support Fifth Season’s media coverage diversity and inclusion initiative, by holding the company and hired PR agencies accountable for DE&I objectives.

 

Media Relations and Brand Storytelling

  • Partner with executive corporate communications firm on strategy, executive communications, and high-level media relations.
  • Frame compelling narratives for Fifth Season, its divisions, executives, clients, and production partners through media placements in entertainment business outlets.
  • Build brand visibility and tell the story of an entrepreneurial organization within a larger matrixed organization.

 

Crisis and Reputation Management

  • Provide crisis management counsel to senior leaders and clients during high-intensity and reputation-impacting events.
  • Support internal communications needs across divisions and offices.
  • Manage and negotiate talent and logistical requirements for international press activities (e.g. set visits, tours, film festivals, premieres, press junkets).

 

Executive Communications and Thought Leadership

  • Create an executive communications program, including media training and thought-leader conference strategy, in conjunction with outside agencies.
  • Support internal communications needs across divisions and offices.

 

PR Agency Management

  • Collaborate and manage international broadcasters and content distribution PR partners, ensuring maximized PR exposure, awareness, and opportunities.
  • Enlist and manage PR agencies for key content projects, as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Senior-level experience in a communications role within the entertainment industry, with a preference for experience in TV networks, production, or studios.
  • Strong network and established relationships with entertainment media outlets, as well as key PR division leads at TV networks and OTT platforms.
  • Proven track record of securing high-impact trade and industry media placements.
  • Skilled strategist, capable of thinking strategically and executing tasks efficiently.
  • Collaborative mindset, actively seeking synergy across functions and the broader company network in a fast-growing environment.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, capable of crafting compelling narratives.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities, skilled at prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
  • Deep understanding of the evolving entertainment PR landscape, committed to staying up-to-date on best practices.
  • Expertise in crisis management and extensive experience in content PR and business communications.
