The Communications and Information Specialist must be a highly motivated individual capable of supporting communications and marketing efforts across the University. The Communication and Information Specialist will be an integral part of growing the Division of Communications and Marketing at Shepherd University. The successful candidate must have graphic design experience and strong writing and communication skills. The Communication and Information Specialist will support other offices and departments to create meaningful and engaging content for digital and print. While administrative tasks will be required, the Communication and Information Specialist will have opportunities to work on new and exciting projects that require creativity and critical thinking. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including some evening and weekend hours. Other duties include writing for web and media, compiling and maintaining Shepherd’s online events calendar, photography, and general office duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Minimum of associate’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field.· Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and speaking.· Excellent organization skills with ability to manage multiple projects.· Strong attention to detail.· Self-starter and highly motivated. Ability to accomplish projects with minimal supervision.· Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference is given to applicants with experience in digital photography, Adobe Creative Cloud, the Office 365 suite.
Appointment to this position will be contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
