ob Title: Commercial Lines Account Manager (Hybrid)

Job Summary: The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, ensuring excellent customer service, policy management, and retention. This role involves maintaining strong relationships with clients, insurers, and other relevant parties to facilitate the smooth operation of commercial insurance policies.

The book of business will be small to middle market accounts with total book of around $2-3M in premium. Industries will include real estate, non-profits, construction, contractors, and municipalities.

Responsibilities
 

  • Client Management:
  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned commercial clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct regular meetings and communication with clients to review their insurance needs, provide policy updates, and offer solutions to address any evolving requirements.
  • Policy Management:
  • Collaborate with underwriters and insurers to assess clients' risk exposures and tailor insurance policies to adequately cover their needs.
  • Review existing insurance policies, make necessary adjustments, endorsements, and renewals to ensure accurate coverage and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, and cancellations as needed.
  • New Business Development:
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling additional insurance products or coverage enhancements to existing clients.
  • Work with producers or sales teams to onboard new clients, gather necessary underwriting information, and ensure a seamless transition into policy management.
  • Risk Assessment:
  • Analyze clients' businesses and risk profiles to determine appropriate coverage options and limits.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions that may impact clients' risk exposures.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and organized client files, ensuring all correspondence, policy documents, endorsements, and communication are properly documented.
  • Generate reports, summaries, and presentations for clients and management as needed.
  • Relationship Building:
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, insurers, and other relevant stakeholders in the insurance industry.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as underwriters, claims handlers, and customer service representatives, to facilitate efficient client support.
  • Renewals and Retention:
  • Proactively manage policy renewals by assessing clients' changing needs and negotiating terms with insurers to ensure favorable terms and competitive pricing.
  • Implement strategies to improve client retention rates, including addressing concerns and proactively preventing potential issues.
     

Requirements
 

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • P&C License required and Designations desirable (CISR, CIC, AAI, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of agency management systems. (AMS360 preferred)
  • Knowledge of computer software packages, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
