As bookkeeper/accounting staff the job involves providing financial, administrative support to the Accounting Department’s daily operations. This position will work side by side with the Accounting Manager to enter/record payables and receivables, complete projects, complete residential paperwork, produce reports, enter data, and close the month.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities –
- Assist in paying and recording approved invoices.
- Follow the Accounting Department’s weekly and monthly schedule.
- Prepare and mail out processed checks.
- Record and deposit company revenue in accounting system and bank accounts.
- Assist residents with making online payments through our online rental portal or over the phone.
- Complete and mail monthly resident balance letters for property portfolios.
- Assist in closing the month – expense reports, organize deposit slips, and bank reconciliation.
- Manage move-in paperwork, cancelled applications, and denied applications.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed on time and accurately by managers.
- Complete deposit accounting cancelled and denied applications happening within the company.
- Actively engage with the managers about paperwork standards and deadlines.
- Ensure that continuity service with SDGE is cancelled under our name when a new resident move ins.
- Answer zero-line phones and check voices.
- Check, sort, distribute mail daily.
- Check, sort, and distribute correspondence from managers weekly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- 3+ years of experience in related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and accounting softwares
- Strong organizational and analytical skills Detail oriented
