Backend NoSQL Developer – Remote (US Candidates)
We are seeking an experienced Backend NoSQL Developer based in the United States for a full-time contract opportunity. This is a 100% remote role with flexibility to overlap U.S. Central Time (CT) hours.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services with a focus on NoSQL database technologies (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Couchbase).
- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and QA to deliver robust, end-to-end data-driven solutions.
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and, where appropriate, implement event-driven architectures.
- Architect microservices and handle data persistence, indexing, and optimization across distributed NoSQL systems.
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code; author and execute unit/integration tests for backend components.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Ensure application security, performance tuning, and scalable deployments within AWS or other cloud environments.
- Stay up to date with the latest in NoSQL trends, distributed system best practices, and backend development tools.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with backend development in Python, Node.js, or Java, with a proven focus on NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, Couchbase, etc.).
- Proficiency in designing and optimizing large-scale NoSQL data models and distributed systems.
- Experience building and securing RESTful APIs; knowledge of authentication and authorization best practices is advantageous.
- Comfortable with Git workflows (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) and CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, Git, etc.).
- Strong grasp of software architecture patterns, distributed systems, and database design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication in a distributed team environment.
Bonus
- Experience with Docker, AWS (Lambda, Fargate, Bedrock, DynamoDB, S3, Kinesis), and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
- Familiarity with cloud-native and serverless architectures.
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks (pytest, unittest, or similar).
- Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (e.g., AWS Kinesis, SQS, SNS).
