AEP Hawaii has been engaged by one of the hottest defense tech software start-ups globally. We’re hiring a remote Cleared Lead Senior Full-stack Engineer and are looking for the top 10% of Software Engineering talent in the US.

180-225K base + equity.

Remote with 30% travel

Join a small, agile start-up engineering team building mission-critical applications to defend our nation and the pacific! This role collaborates closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Software Engineers to shape the technical and product vision, leveraging a modern tech stack to deliver impactful defense technology solutions.

Background

1. 8+ years Software Engineering experience in defense technology or defense. Nice to have would be defense + experience within a high-growth, startup environment required (Series A-D)
2. Extensive experience building user-facing products with expertise in JavaScript & Typescript
3. Proven proficiency in React, and experience with responsive, high-performance UI development.
4. 5+ years of full-stack experience, including relational databases (e.g., Postgres), caching tools (e.g., Redis), and object storage (e.g., S3).
5. Familiarity with best practices for testing web applications.
6. Must be a U.S. resident or citizen. (Clearance required)

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement new features and user interfaces.
2. Architect efficient, reusable front-end systems optimized for high-performance web applications.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive, user-focused products.
4. Lead the development of significant features and guide architectural improvements.
5. Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members.
