Señor Bear is a Latin American-inspired kitchen and bar in the LoHi neighborhood of Denver. We strive to marry the culinary traditions of Latin America with refined, modernized cooking techniques. Our bar program showcases classic Latin spirits, including rum, pisco, tequila, mezcal and cachaça.

PURPOSE

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of the daily operations of the restaurant while also helping to optimize profits and ensure that guests are satisfied with their dining experience. This position also assists the General Manager in staff development and management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May hire and train restaurant staff or assist the General Manager with this process.
  • Provide direction to staff to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, etc. sales goals set by the GeneralManager and ownership group.
  • Consistently review operations and staff and assess performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist General Manager with employment actions, including discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Create a positive guest experience by delivering a high level of service and ensuring all staff members engage guests to exceed their needs and expectations.
  • Monitor labor and other costs to remain within set goals.
  • Assist in new menu implementation, i.e.: staff training.
  • Immediately communicate equipment/maintenance issues and practice good preventativemaintenance of company assets.
  • Handles customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
  • Assist General Manager with inventory, when necessary.
  • Assist General Manager with store maintenance and cleaning.
  • Engage in social media efforts ensuring content is timely, accurate and relevant whileencouraging staff participation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to take direction and make decisions with the best interests of the business in mind.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree
  • In lieu of degree, combination of education and years of experience will be considered.
  • 1+ year of full-service restaurant leadership experience.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends, and holidays.
