Job Description:

As an 8th-grade Curriculum Writer at Enlightium.ai, you'll have the opportunity to develop a biblically grounded asynchronous math curriculum for online usage. You will be responsible for developing engaging, age-appropriate content that aligns with our educational mission, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and our partner school's unique Expected Student Outcomes (ESOs). Our aim is to create courses that foster both creative and critical thinking through the thoughtful presentation and exploration of mathematical concepts. We desire for students to truly master the standards by actively engaging with the material—analyzing, questioning, and applying concepts—rather than passively consuming content. Additionally, we utilize AI tools to enhance the curriculum development process.

Responsibilities:

  1. Create a full-year asynchronous curriculum for 8th-grade students
  2. Ensure biblical presuppositions ground and guide the curriculum to foster character development and spiritual growth
  3. Ensure alignment of the curriculum with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards
  4. Incorporate our partner school's unique Expected Student Outcomes (ESOs) into the curriculum
  5. Collaborate with AI tools and technologies to enhance the development and delivery of curriculum materials
  6. Develop assessments and projects to support effective teaching and learning
  7. Design interactive components (digital and non-digital) that promote active student engagement with content, avoiding passive consumption and encouraging thoughtful participation and productive struggle
  8. Collaborate with the Curriculum Director and other team members to ensure alignment with educational goals and standards.
  9. Create the course from start to finish within approximately three months after the onboarding process and initial training are complete
  10. Embrace and encourage ongoing, constructive feedback with an optimistic, receptive, and collaborative attitude
  11. Utilize multiple software tools for collaboration and organization (e.g. Google Suite, Asana, etc.)

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  2. Proven experience in curriculum development and best practices, preferably for 8th grade math
  3. Experience as a committed Christian educator
  4. An understanding of the Protestant biblical worldview
  5. Strong understanding of Christian values and their priority in an educational context
  6. Excellent writing and editing skills
  7. Proficiency in research and staying up-to-date with educational best practices
  8. Willingness and ability to collaborate with AI tools and technologies to enhance curriculum development
  9. Experience with Canvas LMS,.
  10. Attention to detail and organizational skills
  11. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
