Job Description:

Vice President, Digital Media - HSBE (Devils Arena Entertainment LLC, Newark, NJ): Maximize growth of digital and social channels for the HBSE, including web, mobile, social media and video production for the New Jersey Devils, Prudential Center and other HBSE properties including but not limited to GRAMMY Museum Experience, Devils Youth Foundation, Wollman Rink and other HBSE-run venues; Ensure the maximization of FTE resources in the production of editorial and video content to meet HBSE strategic and financial objectives; Provide strategic direction and technical support for HBSE digital requirements, including but not limited to Wollman Rink, Loews Theatre, White Eagle Hall, Devils Youth Foundation; Oversee development of the site map, user experience and layout for HBSE websites including but not limited to New Jersey Devils, Prudential Center, GRAMMY Museum Experience, Devils Youth Foundation, Wollman Rink and other HBSE-run venues; Develop a strategic plan for live programming both short term and long term including content, technical set up and the build of the production studio; Hands-on support and technical assistance for live production, ensuring the content is streaming out on all designated Devils or Prudential Center platforms (or other HBSE-related platforms as required); Provide strategic direction for the Devils Hockey Network including digital radio programming and integration of radio with live video production; Use SEO to expand reach of the Devils Hockey Network, grow audience & maximize revenue; Coordinate with Manager, Content on social media strategy, including which current social media platforms to invest resources in and which emerging platforms to explore and experiment; Work with Manager, Video Production on overarching video strategy, including which platforms to stream videos; Develop a mobile strategy for Devils and Prudential Center. This includes not only mobile applications but also ensuring the functionality and ease of use of HBSE websites on mobile devices; Work with the Senior Content Producer on a content schedule for NewJerseyDevils.com and PruCenter.com in the form of a daily guide in order to create fan expectation and drive traffic and revenue to weekly franchise properties; Align with internal stakeholders in the development of a content plan for other internal HBSE properties including but not limited to Wollman Rink, Devils Youth Foundation, GRAMMY Museum Experience and other HBSE-run venues; Oversee the maintenance, purchasing and inventory of all production hardware/software; Oversee workflow systems to optimize production process including but limited to storage, rendering, archiving, and connectivity; Monitor daily website traffic and organize content on the websites to maximize traffic based on fan tendencies and behaviors and SEO; and Provide strategy and support for any publications including but not limited to a Devils yearbook, game program and a commemorative 40th anniversary book. Must have experience with the following in order to complete the above-mentioned tasks: Experience working for the National Hockey League in a leadership capacity; Managing brand strategy through effective marketing and media communications planning; Prior experience leading project management for a sports club mobile app and venue mobile app; Programming knowledge, specifically of HTML and PHP; Experience using Content Management Systems; Experience using ENG cameras and in video editing (Adobe Premiere specifically); Knowledge of live streaming production, specifically NewTek TriCaster, LiveU and Wowza Cloud Streaming Server; Ability to write and act as a managing editor with work published in a major publication, professional sports club website or newspaper; Knowledge of standard and current SEO practices; and Ability to work in a team environment. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Digital Media or a closely-related field, and at least five (5) years of experience as a Digital Media Manager or related occupation working for a professional sports organization. In the alternative, no degree and seven (7) years of experience in the above-mentioned field and occupation is required. Option to work from home. Travel Required - 15% throughout the US.
