Our client, a major non-profit association, is looking for an Organic SEO Manager to join their marketing organization for a long-term consulting assignment in Washington, DC. This position may be performed remotely.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage and implement holistic SEO strategies.
- Work with the management team to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented.
- Partner with developers and content specialists to promote SEO best practices.
- Pro-actively analyze SEO performance and conducts ongoing technical audits, identifies technical limitations, analyzes site health and recommend and implement strategies.
- Identifies opportunities and analyze key performance indicators in the marketplace to improve search visibility, and consistently improve engagement resulting in qualified traffic through organic search.
- Analyze, strategize, implement, monitor, and report ongoing SEO efforts to stakeholders on ensuring that business goals are met.
- Leverage dashboard data and reports to evaluate the degree of success of SEO efforts to develop and recommend SEO initiatives and campaigns.
- Execute tests, collect and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights in order to create monthly, quarterly and yearly SEO strategies.
- Determine scope of new SEO projects in coordination with business objectives to optimize existing content and uncover new opportunities.
- Perform content gap analysis and create recommendations in coordination with elements and structure of websites and web pages.
- Provide recommendations and execute/manage strategies for SEO goals – general and keyword specific.
- Implement and administer SEO functional requirements for XML sitemaps (video, news, and standard), robots.txt, canonicals, taxonomy, and schema).
- Monitor and evaluate search results and search performance across the major search channels (Local, Universal, Voice, Image) in order to improve rankings.
- Monitor, analyze, and evaluate web analytics dashboards and reports in order to develop and recommend SEO strategies.
- Provide oversight and serve as quality control when working with various stakeholders.
- Create and optimize local map listings on Google My Business and citations.
- Define requirements, tasks, acceptance criteria and resources associated to SEO strategy.
- Keep pace with SEO, search engine and internet marketing industry trends and development.
Qualifications:
- Strategic, analytical, organized, and efficient – able to manage multiple SEO projects and priorities at one time.
- Mastery of SEO best practices, and proficient in technical SEO initiatives.
- Understand the integration opportunities between organic and paid search.
- Expert user of SEO software without a dependency (Conductor Searchlight, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and SEMRush).
- Strong proficiency with web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics) and a strategic thinker.
- Track record for delivering projects and completing tasks on time.
- Solid understanding of online marketing reporting and quantitative analysis.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills: enthusiastic, team player, professional, well organized, self-starter, serious commitment to hard work.
- 5+ years of leading SEO initiatives and strategies including experience in the execution of SEO recommendations with a proven track record of results.
- Sound business acumen, financial analysis skills, strategic skills and common sense.
- Demonstrated knowledge in analyzing and interpreting complex data.
- Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
- Proven ability to manage projects to successful completion, multi-task and work within deadlines.
- Can lead as well as function as part of a team.
- Able to perform in depth keyword research and industry research.
- Full understanding of Google Trends and how to leverage for search.
