About Energy Hire

Energy Hire is re-engineering how the energy industry finds and hires talent with leading-edge technologies, processes and systems, designed to improve the hiring experience for businesses and job seekers. Our AI-powered platform matches top professionals with growing businesses, reducing time-to-hire, and unlocking better outcomes for both sides of the market. We are a technology company first, everything we build is aimed at making hiring faster, smarter, and more human-centric. Founded just a few years ago by someone who came up in the world of oil and gas, but made their waves with the development and sale of Mineral Ware. As a seed-stage startup, we embrace speed, quality, and excellence. We are supportive, positive, and focused on results. We work hard, because we care about the customers we serve and want to make the world a better place through our contributions.

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a technology maintenance position. You will architect and code entirely new systems that shape the trajectory of our company and, by extension, the way energy companies hire. You will partner directly with product, growth, marketing, development and sales to turn customer insights into features, experiments, and revenue. There is no people-management line in your org chart, yet your technical vision and project-management skill will galvanize designers, data scientists, and GTM teams around clear, ambitious goals. You will be well-versed in the newest development technologies to rapidly create, deploy, test, integrate and scale new features, and products. You will need to have a spirit for winning, and a passion for building amazing things that work great, look great, and keep customers engaged and excited.

What You’ll Do

  1. Architect from zero – Design and build greenfield services, data pipelines, and full-stack applications that scale from first user to thousands.
  2. Code on the edge – Prototype with emerging languages, frameworks, and AI tooling; retire legacy approaches when better tech appears.
  3. Champion the customer – Translate qualitative interviews and quantitative data into elegant technical solutions that eliminate real pain points.
  4. Run growth experiments – Embed with marketing and sales to design A/B tests, instrument funnels, and rapidly iterate for lift.
  5. Own the project – Create roadmaps, break work into sprints, clear blockers, and deliver on schedule without heavy process overhead.
  6. Unify data at scale – Model, store, and serve large, diverse datasets so that platform components speak the same language.
  7. Raise the bar – Enforce uncompromising quality in code reviews, testing, security, and documentation; mentor peers through example.

Must-Have Qualifications

  1. 5+ years building production-grade products or platforms from blank repository to launch.
  2. Experience commercializing products from rapid development tools like Replit and similar.
  3. Product leadership expertise, with a focus on the analysis and insights of customers.
  4. Fluency in at least one modern backend language (Python, Go, Node.js, etc.) and one modern frontend framework (React, Vue, Svelte, etc.).
  5. Highly adept at managing large workloads, on tight timelines, with little to no budget.
  6. Deep experience designing cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure), microservices, and high-throughput APIs.
  7. Proven success wrangling large datasets, building ETL pipelines, and optimizing storage/compute trade-offs.
  8. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects—scoping, prioritizing, and shipping—without formal authority.
  9. Comfort with growth concepts: event instrumentation, cohort analysis, and iterative experimentation.
  10. Clear, concise written and verbal communication that rallies non-technical stakeholders.
  11. Hands-on work with GenAI or ML ops pipelines.

Nice-to-Have

  1. Marketplace, SaaS, or HR-tech domain knowledge.
  2. Exposure to event-driven or serverless architectures.
  3. Familiarity with analytics stacks like Segment, Snowflake, or dbt.
  4. Knowledge of or experience in the energy industry.

Compensation & Benefits

  1. Competitive base salary + equity participation in a growth incentive plan.
  2. A generous and flexible PTO and fully remote flexibility (with occasional team meetings).
  3. Career growth pathing with potential for people leadership and other senior leadership roles.
