The Opportunity
The Senior Researcher is a core part of IDI's Follow the Money initiative, our innovative approach to defending human rights and the environment. The Senior Researcher works closely with the Research Director to translate the research team's strategic goals into clear, actionable activity plans on a quarterly and annual basis.
This position is responsible for managing the team's workflow of investment chain investigations and ensuring deadlines are being met. The role is also responsible for reviewing and editing investigation reports and other research team products, supervising the team's fact-checking interns, leading Follow the Money training modules for external audiences, and staying abreast of the latest developments in the investigative field. The Senior Researcher will also conduct a limited number of high-priority or uniquely complex investment chain investigations themselves and will contribute research and analysis to Inclusive Development International's policy advocacy and casework.

Compensation and Benefits:
Inclusive Development International is committed to providing competitive, equitable and transparent compensation for staff. The starting salary for this position will be $78,000-$90,000 is based on demonstrated competencies and responsibilities, with a geographic differential applied based on city in accordance with our Compensation Framework.

Working Arrangement:
The Inclusive Development International team is globally dispersed, with most employees working on a fully remote basis. Our main office is located in Asheville, North Carolina. This position is open to applicants based in the United States within the U.S. Eastern time zone. Asheville-based candidates have the option to work on a hybrid basis (mix of work from home and onsite).
You must have obtained legal authorization to work and live in the United States. Inclusive Development International is unable to sponsor work visas.
Management responsibilities:
This position directly supervises the team's fact-checking interns.
Travel:
3 to 5 international trips per year are expected.
