Job Description:

 

 

Job Responsibilities – 

 

Perform a wide range of accounting-related activities including moderate to complex accounting transactions that may include processing and accounting for loans, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, acquisitions, revenue and expense accruals, payroll and incentives, equity transactions, and ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis.

 

Processes and verifies journal entries as needed to ensure accuracy and completeness.

 

Performs periodic bank and GL account reconcilitions as assigned.

 

Balances, monitors and reconciles loan, DDA, savings clearing and unposted general ledger accounts.

 

Settles bank’s daily cash position and transfers funds as needed.

 

Provides support for A/P process as needed, including vendor setup and maintenance and sales and use tax processing.

 

Assists in preparing support for regulatory (FDIC Call Report) and SEC (10K, 10Q) reporting and gathers data needed for Auditors.

 

Prepares board and tax schedules as assigned.

 

Provides budget support as needed.  

   

Provides support and backup as needed.

 

Ensures that own work complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and guidelines.

 

All other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Related Experience – 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
  • 3 to 5 years of banking or accounting experience preferred, but not required.

 

Skills and Abilities – 

  • Must possess knowledge of standard office equipment including computer, ten key adding machine, fax machine, scanner and copy machine.
  • Must possess knowledge of computers and computer operations MS Office software.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess good organizational skills.
  • Must possess ability to perform detailed tasks with accuracy.

 

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements – 

  •        Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  •        Ability to operate a keyboard if required performing the essential job functions.
  •        Ability to read and interpret a document.
  •        Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.
  •        Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence, omitting lifting as a physical requirement.
