Join Our Team and Make a Difference in Higher Education!

At the System Administration office at the University of Colorado, we are dedicated to building a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. Our office is committed to fostering a culture where employees find community, a sense of belonging, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our mission and purpose.

By joining our team, you’ll have a direct impact on shaping the future of higher education. In addition to the Office of the Board of Regents, the University of Colorado’s system administration includes 19 units that provide essential services to CU’s campuses in Aurora, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and Denver, as well as the Office of the President. While not a part of any one campus, we are proud to serve in the centralized office for the University system. Together, we ensure CU continues to deliver outstanding education, groundbreaking research, and valuable service to our communities.

We believe in creating an environment where the unique experiences and perspectives of everyone are embraced, enriching the work we do and the strategic outcomes we pursue. If you’re passionate about making a difference, contributing to a dynamic team, and supporting a mission that matters, we encourage you to apply and be part of our journey. Position Summary:

The University of Colorado’s (CU) Office of Advancement manages and coordinates administrative functions that support the campus-based fundraising field staff. These functions include communications, data management, CRM operations, reporting & analytics, estate gift planning, gift processing, marketing, research, and other services. These centralized services place the institution in an optimal position to attract substantial support from the philanthropic sector.

The Salesforce Technical Administrator is a member of the CU Ascend Administration Team (CAAT), responsible for hands-on configuration and development within the university’s Salesforce ecosystem. This position supports the delivery of scalable, reliable, and user-centered solutions across multiple Salesforce products, including Ascend, Sales Cloud, and Service Cloud.

This role requires strong admin capabilities and foundational Apex development skills. The ideal candidate will be eager to grow into more advanced development and architectural responsibilities over time.

Where You Will Work:

The CU System Office of Advancement follows a “flexibility first” approach to work that defines how we manage and make use of in-person time. As a fully remote position within the state of Colorado, this role will work remotely with the exception of four separate callback weeks per year— when all our colleagues are expected to be together in the office. During callback weeks, this role is expected to work from the CU System office at 1800 Grant St. in Denver, Colorado. Any additional in-office time will be determined by this role's manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Configure and maintain Salesforce objects, fields, page layouts, validation rules, flows, and other declarative tools with direction and support from team leadership.
  2. Contribute to Apex development tasks including triggers, classes, and Lightning Web Components under guidance of senior technical staff.
  3. Manage user roles, profiles, permission sets, and security settings.
  4. Support data quality through automation, validation, and cleanup processes.
  5. Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and QA coordination.
  6. Maintain platform documentation and contribute to release readiness.
  7. Assist with integration support and system optimization efforts.
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Secondary Responsibilities

  1. Participate in technical design discussions and propose scalable solutions.
  2. Support testing and deployment activities across environments.
  3. Contribute to end-user documentation and training materials.
  4. Engage in professional development to expand technical depth and architectural understanding.
