Get To Know The Opportunity

The RFP Director is responsible for overseeing a team of RFP Specialists that support the development, coordination and delivery of Voya Wealth requests covering mid, large government markets and emerging markets for existing and new prospective clients. The director is accountable for building a positive, inclusive climate by encouraging alternative view/perspectives from business partners and team members, through open and collaborative forms of communication.

The director will be required to develop deep relationships within the organization with mid and senior level management and possess the ability to influence key stakeholders on process or products that may impact the advancement of Voya in sales and retention opportunities or impacts on deliverables. The director will represent the group as needed in various intracompany projects as well as identifying key initiatives and projects with the goal to increase capacity, efficiency, and productivity.

Please Note: Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule.

The Contributions You’ll Make

  • Oversee the overall RFP team (both onshore and offshore resources) to ensure successful completion and delivery of high-quality professional Requests for Proposal and Information including:
  • Review teams work to ensure all specific requirements and internal positioning strategies are met, mitigating risk for the organization
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, and training. Provide oversight for new and existing employees
  • Lead weekly team huddles
  • Assign incoming opportunities across the team to ensure timing of deadlines are managed appropriately
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to team members
  • Promote professional growth and development of staff through scheduled check-ins, annual review process and ad hoc discussions with the goal to foster a strong team environment and a productive and efficient team.
  • Ensure team is aware of new product and service offerings and develop/train team accordingly through team meetings and sharing of best practices.
  • Analyze market trends (attend schedule LIMRA meetings), responsible for coordination and implementation of new and always evolving best practices. Identifies process improvements and implements within the team. Act as a “Change Agent” to improve efficiency and productivity to meet high volume periods.
  • Primarily responsible for content for web-based RFP systems leveraged by both IW and RFP teams (i.e. – Envestnet, RPAG, RFP Director, InHub).
  • Responsible for maintenance and inventory management of the Windsor production room for hardcopy RFP responses and sales materials/presentations. Point person for all vendors tied to the production room.
  • Support miscellaneous inquiries from various Voya internal partners. For example, act as team subject matter expert for Voya book of business statistics – respond to ~350 requests annually, field ad hoc request from sales for finals, presentations, or general meetings.
  • Ensure RFP database is leveraging most recent capabilities and is current, update and manage various vendor database requests and develop tools to increase efficiency and promote self-service within the team and for internal partners. Develops and establishes a repository of templates, standard language, product collateral, exhibits, and other data resources to create high-quality and accurate responses.
  • Develop content for current/new market offerings and initiatives (i.e., MEP RFP’s) and collaborate with internal contributors and subject matter experts.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product Development to ensure Voya maintains market parity. Cultivate and enhance relationships with internal business partners, be the “voice of the prospect/client and/or market”.
  • Participate in group or company-wide projects and initiatives. Function as an extension of the Sales Support group to other internal business partners.
  • Other duties as assigned based on experience, subject matter expertise, or capacity needs.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7 – 10 years of retirement industry experience including, but not limited to, defined contribution, defined benefit, and nonqualified
  • 2+ years supervisory experience
  • Thorough understanding of retirement industry and Voya product and service knowledge
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, strong leadership skills, ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Evidence of ability to work on a diverse, high performing team
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Strong analytic and reporting skills
  • Ability to lead and communicate in a fast-paced environment
  • FINRA SIE, Series 6 and 26 required (Can be obtain within 120 days of hire).

Compensation Pay Disclosure

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$107,970 - $134,960 USD
