RTS Tactical is a rapidly growing Body Armor & Tactical Gear Manufacturer based out of Miami Florida. RTS Tactical’s mission is to build the confidence of our Men and Women who wear our equipment to Be Fearless and Proud of their mission.
At RTS Tactical, we take a rudimentary approach in designing, engineering, and producing only the finest body armor and tactical gear.
In light of our recent success, RTS Tactical is expanding, and we are seeking a highly motivated, adaptable Product Development Manager to join our team!
The RTS Tactical Product Development Manager will be working on the next level of tactical gear protection for our proud men and women in Uniform.
The industry is constantly advancing to better, lighter, and more reliable protection. Our Design and Development department is looking to lead forward development and integration of emerging technologies.
Job Responsibilities of the RTS Tactical Product Development Manager
- Maintaining our IP Library of drawing and tech packs
- Lead the product development process from concept to production, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Create detailed technical packs (tech packs) with accurate specifications, including materials, construction, measurements, and assembly instructions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment of product strategy and customer needs.
- Having the “entrepreneur” mindset to pull the pieces together and push forward the project to the next step.
- Cooperation with other departments, Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, CEO, and Design.
- Participating in weekly company meetings as well as relentless follow up with team members for project success.
- Implement and maintain a robust project management system to effectively track progress, manage resources, and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
- From time to time, developing relationships with real world end users for their input on product directions.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Weekly Reporting of updates to the CEO
Skills/Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, preferably in the clothing, tactical gear, soft goods, or outdoor equipment industries.
- An analytical thinker who is energized by solving problems through design
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Independent thinker and worker who can easily adapt to a team approach
- Complex problem-solving skills
- Preferred experience in Tactical Gear/Body Armor
- Demonstrates strong understanding of aesthetics, design function, and human factors
- Strong observational skills, end user empathy, and ability to identify insights from qualitative research
- File and maintain organized drive of files
- Strong communication skills
