Marketing & Social Media Co-Op

WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

This co-op/internship position will contribute to the efforts that support Addgene’s marketing initiatives, create and manage content for our social media presence, and contribute to existing marketing programs, while assisting with the development of new initiatives aligned with the company's mission and goals.  This is a 40 hour/week position for 6-8 months.

LOCATION & POLICY ON REMOTE WORK

 

This position can be flexible - onsite (Watertown, MA), hybrid, or remote. We are able to open this position up to residents in MA, VT, ME, RI, NC, FL and OH. For those onsite, our beautiful office space has ample parking with a free shuttle from Harvard Square and is on multiple bus lines, with the cost of public transit covered by Addgene.

Addgene's Covid-19 Safety Measures

At this time, all employees of Addgene are required to have been fully vaccinated (two weeks out from second dose) in order to enter our office space.

Job Description

This entry-level position will contribute to the efforts that support Addgene’s marketing initiatives, create and manage content for our social media presence, monitor, engage with, and analyze the performance of our content on all social channels, and contribute to existing marketing programs, while assisting with the development of new initiatives aligned with the company's mission and goals. 

 

To Succeed in this Role, You Will

 

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identifying and executing improvements for processes, content, and lead generation
  • Prepare marketing activity reports and metrics for measuring program success
  • Support the maintenance and development of internal tools, including our CRM database and CMS platform (HubSpot), and project planning tools (Jira, Miro)
  • Maintain a directory and inventory of sales support materials, ensuring all resources are current and accurate, and coordinate the creation of new materials as needed
  • Assist with the planning and management of meetings, events, conferences, and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements, establishing contacts, developing schedules and assignments, and coordinating mailing lists
  • Work with the Marketing Generalist to evaluate all available metrics and data to make adjustments to promotions, campaigns and advertising elements.
  • Various other tasks as determined by the Sr. Marketing Manager

     

Social Media Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Sr. Marketing Manager and key stakeholders on the Content team to develop, implement and manage our social media strategy.
  • Define the most important social media KPIs for the organization to track and evaluate all content and engagement against those metrics.
  • Work with our writers and visual designers to ensure that content is informative, appealing and aligns with both our brand’s visual and voice/tone guidelines.
  • Work with Marketing Generalist to create new campaigns, help plan existing ones, schedule social posts, and assist with analyzing campaign performance.
  • Work with Marketing Generalist to update SOPs and create new ones from campaign creation-completion and analyzation.
  • Continuously monitor all social media channels responding to questions and comments as needed, identifying posts to amplify and engage with, and searching for relevant and trending content and/or voices to connect with and join the conversation
  • Various other tasks as determined by the Sr. Marketing Manager

Skills and Competencies

  • The marketing coordinator must be an organized multitasker able to handle many diverse projects at once and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing approaches
  • Experience working with collaborative cross-disciplinary teams.  
  • Familiarity with research and data analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Google Ads, HubSpot reporting) and strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills. 
  • Communicates ideas clearly and enjoys solving problems. 
  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to drive project work streams and deliverables with little oversight.
  • Proficiency with Google Office Suite
